[H-RP] <The Lok'gorahn> is recruiting!

The Lok’gorahn

“Ag’no kar Nok-Karosh, Lok’gorahn.”

“We are a simple people with a complex past. All that you see before you is a product of our existence. All that has transpired, mere aftershocks from our arrival. And yet, against all odds, we persist. I founded this clan – this family – because I look at the Horde and no longer recognize it. It has fallen from a place of honor, the hope it posed for our people all but diminished. We will become that beacon of light, shining in the darkness… and so long as we remain true to our roots, steeped heavily in the traditions of our ancestors, we will survive.”
-Chieftain Maul Hammerfist, the taking of Lohn’gol

As the southern winds shriek across Kalimdor, they bring tidings of a new clan; a new hope for the orcish people. Heralds of the old ways have established their presence in this world, founded upon the ancient traditions practiced by our ancestors. A home for all orcs, no matter their clanly lineage, for the warriors of this order hail from all corners of Draenor. From the rolling plains of Nagrand to the snowy crags of Frostfire, from the searing plateaus of Gorgrond to the towering jungles of Tanaan. Their leaders look to the Horde — once a symbol of orcish might, later one of tentative unity among likeminded peoples — and weep for its downfall. We seek to reclaim lost honor, to restore our people to their rightful place, and to protect our culture amidst a world torn apart by war.

We are the Lok’gorahn.

What is the Lok’gorahn?

The Lok’gorahn (which is Orcish for “Honor’s Journey”) is a new-age clan seeking to preserve the ancient customs, beliefs, and traditions of the orcish people, while fighting for the Horde in whatever way they deem necessary. Meant to stand as a legendary warband of purely orcish warriors, we serve the needs of our own people above all others. Above all, we are bound by a common goal rooted in survival, conservation, and reclamation.

Although the age of clans has long since past, we aim to follow the old ways, harkening back to a simpler time when the orcish clans roamed freely across Draenor. Our loyalty lies with our people, whose future is uncertain during these tumultuous times. Making our home in Lohn’gol (Brambleblade Ravine), our mighty warcry will soon ring out across all of Kalimdor.

Who is the Lok’gorahn?

Like many guilds, we began as a close-knit group of friends that have roleplayed with each other over the past few years. Our officer core has extensive experience creating and maintaining guilds of all sizes, backgrounds, and themes. Our goal is to promote quality roleplay in a friendly and creative environment while helping to create a gold standard in the orcish RP community.

We’ve invested countless hours into researching orcish lore, clan history, and life on Draenor, among many other areas that have allowed us to cultivate a unique image and culture for the Lok’gorahn. We expect to evolve over time, but our foundation is incredibly solid.

Why join the Lok’gorahn?

It’s a simple question, but one that holds weight nonetheless. As a prospective recruit, we understand that picking a home for your orc is a meticulous process. As such, we’ve devised several points that we hope will persuade you into choosing us, provided that both parties are a good fit! A note to consider is that in order to ensure the absolute best possible environment for our members, we reserve the right to pick and choose.

  • A unique clan culture built upon the foundation of the Ok’drahnar, whose principles were founded upon the ancient traditions of the Draenic clans. All of the rites, ceremonies, and traditions of the Lok’gorahn can be attributed to this culture, which governs the life of all the clan’s warriors.

  • A heavy emphasis on lore-abiding immersion and high quality roleplay. Our core is filled with eloquent writers who have a steadfast understanding of orcish lore, knowledge that we are happy to pass onto our members in our efforts to create that golden standard.

  • An exceptional, bar-none orcish roleplaying experience. We immerse ourselves into world of clan life, with a progression system marked by different rites and trials, including our unique (but largely traditional) take on the Om’riggor. That, and many others found on our website.

  • Frequent events throughout the coming weeks and months. Although we aim to establish ourselves first, we offer a rich, detailed storyline that promotes character development and organic growth, both of which are catalyzed by active participation from all members.

  • A highly-detailed, fleshed-out character trait system utilizing the DiceMaster add-on, featuring over 200+ unique abilities that allow for complete customization. Complete with a comprehensive guide for all newcomers. To be used in all of our D20 events.

  • A close-knit community who looks after their own. Not only do we encourage growth as roleplayers, but as people too. We’re a family, one that sticks together both in- and out-of character.

Where can I find out more about the Lok’gorahn?

Anything and everything you could ever hope to know about the Lok’gorahn can be found on our website. We do NOT require you to join or apply, but it is expected that prospective recruits scour the site for information before approaching an officer. Just like the clan, the site is always evolving, and more information will be added as time progresses.

Website link: https://.lokgorahn.com

Also, feel free to contact either myself or any member of the Lok’tra Council (the governing body of the Lok’gorahn), who are the acting officers of the guild. Before you can join, you will need an IC interview from one of us.

  • Chieftain Maul Hammerfist (Hämmerfist)

  • Warmaster Nok’ghor Marrowgrin (Nokghor)

  • Farseer Dron’nar Rockblade (Dronnar)

  • Battlelord Thru’ul Graverage (Thrül)

We will answer any and all questions regarding the Lok’gorahn or orcish lore in general. We are also more than happy to help you craft your character if you’re unfamiliar with our people’s history.

Additional information.

I’ll keep this slot open in-case I need to add any more information that I feel the public should know. I plan to keep this thread updated with reports on our events, our growing history, and anything else I feel is worth sharing! Stay tuned for future happenings!

My Battle-Tag is BigandAngry#1867, and I encourage anyone who’s interested in reaching out to add me, as that’s the best way to communicate with me in-game. Whether you’re a GM that wishes to collaborate or a potential guildie, it doesn’t matter! I don’t bite.

(EDIT: For some reason, the forums won’t let me post a link. I suspect that has something to do with the fairly recently-implemented trust levels. I ask that you guys remove the wayward period (.) at the beginning of the address before simply copying/pasting. Apologies for the inconvenience!)

How do you deal with lorebreakers in the guild?

The Lineage of the Breakers serves the HORDE!

Hey there Soljeron! As we’re strictly lore-abiding, we do our utmost to remediate any lore-breaking characters to the best of our ability. This could include, but isn’t limited to:

  1. Offering alternate paths for character development.
  2. Providing helpful insight regarding lore, be it orcish or otherwise.
  3. Redirecting people to in-depth sources, such as wikis, books, or videos, that contain extra information.

We do our best to be accommodating, because our standards are already fairly high. We offer similar remedies to individuals who are new or weak writers, all with the intentions of bettering everyone’s roleplaying experience.

Hope this answered your question!

Awesome, that answered all of my questions regarding lore and I’m happy to see a loreful orc RP guild around. If I ever roll an orc, I’m definitely going to apply.

Is the guild pretty new? If so I would suggest getting involved in the community so that RPers can see you - unless you have plans for that already, of course. The majority of RPers don’t frequent the forums.

Awesome to hear that you like our concept! To answer your question we do plan to have a big presence in the community! It is our intention to not only foster RP within our guild but to drum up more RP between all guilds in the orc community! In-fact we are already talking with other GMs. I’m personally super excited to help build up this already amazing community even more! Expect to hear a lot more from us soon!

We’re happy to have Fenryka and her Beast-brothers under the Lok’gorahn’s banner! We’ve continued to grow steadily, as our efforts are now entirely focused upon recruiting. Our first event is slated for this Sunday, so we hope to have as many good, quality roleplayers as possible by then!

Our event will entail the taking of Lohn’gol, which will be our in-game home. We hope to make it an RP hub for our members, as myself and the other members of the Lok’tra Council can be found there when we’re not doing content/recruiting in Orgrimmar.

Other than that, I hope everyone’s days are great! We’re very excited to kick things off here in the Lok’gorahn, and look forward to making a name for ourselves in the process!

I really look forward to watching the Ruk’har fill up with quality RPers! As the seers of the clan we fill an important role and provide pretty awesome opportunities for exploring the more spiritual part of orc culture!

Throm’ka, Wyrmrest Accord!

I’m happy to announce that we’ve started the creation of an orc roleplaying guide! We’re not in the business of dictating how others roleplay their characters, but we thought that we’d do the community a service by compiling a bunch of information regarding the orcs into one, comprehensive guide! It’ll be featured on our website for our own members, but there’s been discussion about posting it here, since we couldn’t find one that’s recent.

Other than that, our growth as been steady! It hasn’t even been a full day since my last update and we’ve already added a couple members that perfectly encapsulate what we’re looking for in a roleplayer. I’m very excited to see everyone in action during our very first event, which is slated for this Sunday!

Aka’magosh!

Hey everyone! Your friendly neighborhood Warmaster popping in to say hello and remind anyone interested in joining or looking for any more information to either send one of the officers (Hämmerfist, Dronnar, Thrúl, and/or myself) an in-game whisper–or mail if we’re not online–with any questions you have that need answering. We’re all looking forward to welcoming more from the community into our ranks, and the entire guild is eagerly anticipating our first event on Sunday!

Our first event was a lot of fun, really glad I joined up! Lok’tar ogar!

Throm’ka, Fenryka and Cul’daz! I’m really glad you enjoyed our first event, there’s far more where that came from. We’re aiming to bring the best possible orcish experience to our members, bar none!

Speaking of which, we just finished “Call of Lohn’gol, Pt. I” last night. The event ran for nearly three hours and featured plenty of combat for our members to shine in. We saw a collective effort from the Ruk’har – our clan’s seers – as they saved the Lok’gorahn from being trampled by a marauding warband of centaur. The earth itself yielded to their collective might, leveling the playing field upon which the enemy possessed an advantage in both mobility and numbers. You can catch the write-up for our event tonight on our website, included in the original post. I’m very excited to throw it up, because I intend to drop the names of all those who attended and fought valorously in defense of the clan. Our next event, “Call of Lohn’gol, Pt. II,” will see us take Brambleblade Ravine from a powerful foe… both seen and unseen.

It’s been a lot of fun roleplaying with this group, and I’ve personally had a blast. We’re still growing, obviously, and there’s much left to be done before we officially establish ourselves as a force to be reckoned with. My officer core and I are still researching tirelessly into orcish lore and history to see how we can better structure the clan and it’s story, but we’ve had a lot of fun doing so. If you’re looking to join us, please feel free to reach out to me or another member of the council.

Ag’no kar nok-karosh!

We finished our first major event today! A good time was had by all and Lok’gorahn is now the proud owner of our very own canyon home. If we can get the Quilboar smell out, that is.

Fenryka is right! We just finished a riveting two-part event chain that saw us conquer our new home, Lohn’gol. A whopping 17 people (keep in mine, that’s half our member base) showed up to the event, which began in the Overgrowth and ended in Brambleblade Ravine. We have screenshots galore to post, but unfortunately the forums won’t let me post them.

The write-up for the event will be posted on the website in the next few days. For now, we’ll continue to focus on recruiting AND getting spiritual approval from our ancestors as each Unblooded member will be undergoing the momentous rite of Om’riggor! It’s our own unique iteration of it (considering everyone’s already an adult), but it’s crucial to those who wish to climb up the ladder and be inducted as Tusksworn in the clan.

Exciting developments are in store for us! We finally have our RP hub in Brambleblade, which is strategically-located in more ways than one! We look forward to bringing in new members into the fold, but until then…

Aka’magosh!

Since claiming Lohn’gol for the Lok’gorahn, we’ve been having consistent, entertaining RP in our new hub; even garnering Orcs from all over to come and seek us out for entry into the Lok’gorahn’s ranks. Officers and Unblooded alike are anticipating our first wave of Om’riggors this Sunday to test those deemed fit for elevation to Tusksworn!

We’ve managed to average 12-14 people online everyday during peak hours, and the number never drops below 4-6 past noon! We haven’t done much aside from general roleplay within our village of Lohn’gol, but the Lok’tra Council has finally set the different Unblooded of both the Lohn’gar and the Ruk’har to task with their Om’riggors. Sent in every which direction which their respective tasks, the warriors of the Lok’gorahn seek to prove their worth out in the field, stripped to their loincloth with only a single weapon afforded to them.

We plan to bring Tusksworn into the fold over the next few days, offering the Unblooded that fought to conquer Lohn’gol a chance to become full-blooded members of the guild. After that, they may pursue a series of different avenues within the guild, up to and including championship beneath the Gor’magan Nok’ghor Marrowgrin.

We’ll be back with more updates. Until then, aka’magosh!

I thought I’d join up and burn everything down.

Wether this is a good thing for Lok’gorahn or a bad thing for Lok’gorahn,

I leave up to you.

Things have been incredible the past few days! We sent those who had been at both events on their Om’riggors, who were all keen to prove their worth and ascend into the ranks of Tusksworn. As full-blooded members of the clan, they’re free to pursue a wide array of IC avenues, all previously denied to them as Unblooded. We like to emulate the progression typically found in an average clan setting, so it’s incredibly rewarding to earn your place amongst us. Reading through everyone’s write-ups for their Om’riggors was loads of fun, and I can’t wait for more to partake in their trials!

We’ve been exploding with popularity and it’s only a matter of time until we’re the largest orc guild on the server. We blow all others out of the water with activity, reaching as high as 20-21 members at a time during peak hours. We’re incredibly well-established with a solid foundation based upon traditional orcish customs, and we invite all of you fine folk to come check us out whenever you can!

Its been so rewarding to RP with everyone and see the ideas our members come up with! In addition to that I’m very excited to host my first event in the guild tomorrow! Its going to be great!
