The Blightguard
“For decades, we have bided our time, we have built our empire, yet now it stands in ruins. For years, we have served the Dark Lady, yet now she has forsaken us. For months, we have awaited her return, but no longer. Children of death and rot, we must forge a path forward, through the bulwarks of flesh and breath. With pestilence and plague, we will reclaim her empire.”
Guild Information
The Fifth Battalion of Royal Plaguetroopers, better known as the Blightguard, are is one of the few surviving Royalist battalions of the Dark Lady’s army. Bearing cannisters of blight and donning gas masks, the Blightguard is known for their unwavering loyalty to the Crown and unrelenting mercilessness. In their queen’s absence, the battalion’s war against the Alliance has not ceased, though their strength has been greatly diminished.
The Blightguard is a Forsaken roleplay guild focused primary on the Royalist armies of the Undercity. Beginning as a pet project, the main goal of the Blightguard is to help in rebuilding the MG-H roleplay community in any way we can. We are looking primarily for main characters or those who can be active on alts to maintain a healthy roster and build activity!
Guild Heirarchy
-
Executor
The Executor of the Blightguard, Ithric Galeron, is the unit’s commanding officer, charged with managing the remaining forces under his command. -
Lieutenant
Lieutenants are charged with the day-to-day management of the Blightguard, be that training, commanding troops in battle, or ensuring the welfare of the troops. -
Serjeant
Serjeants are the backbone of the Blightguards leadership, forming the lowest level of its management. They maintain discipline within the ranks and lead a handful of troopers. -
Veteran
Veterans are the most experienced of the Blightguard’s troopers, hand-selected for their undying loyalty, strict discipline, and mastery of pestilence. -
Trooper
Troopers are the backbone of the Blightguard, forming the rank and file. As plague cannisters fly overhead, they fight for every inch of their kingdom back. -
Loyalist
Loyalists are the freshly recruited troops of the Blightguard, yet to be battle-tested.
D20 System
The Blightguard uses a custom D20 system based off of the Conquest D20 system to allow players to create a character sheet that best fits how they want to roleplay!
Standards of Roleplay
The Blightguard aims to maintain a high standard of roleplay, requiring a decent grasp on the current Forsaken lore and widely the Warcaft lore in general. We are more than happy to help those who are new to Warcraft lore and Forsaken roleplay, but a willingness to learn is important!
Quality of writing is important for all those joining to help maintain our standard of roleplay. We all make grammatical mistakes from time to time (there is probably at least three in this post to be honest), but preserving a realistic tone of roleplay through writing is key!
Lastly, activity is a must! While real-life gets in the way sometimes, we hope to see as many people online for events and casual roleplay as we can to help grow a community.
Roleplay Disclaimers
It is necessary to say that this guild is not for everyone. While being respectful to the current canon, we do roleplay a gray area between Crown loyalists and members of the Horde. This may bring your character into conflict with both members of the Alliance and Horde.
Our roleplay can be dark and gruesome at times, as is to be expected with a gaggle of undead troopers using chemical weapons. For that reason, we typically encourage prospective members to be at least 18 years old or older and comfortable with darker themes in roleplay.
Joining the Blightguard
Recruitment Status: OPEN
The Blightguard’s primary mission is to maintain a high standard of roleplay, therefore we selectively recruit for the guild. What does this mean for you? As long as you and your character fit the following criteria, you may contact our leadership for an OOC interview!
-
Undead or Blood Elf
To maintain the integrity of our roleplay, we require that all members are undead, roleplaying either as members of the Forsaken or Dark Rangers, though the latter is limited and highly selective. -
Level 50+
In order to roleplay in all areas of Azeroth and look dashing doing so, we require all prospective members to be at least level 50. Exceptions may be made for those who are able to reach level 50 within one week of joining. -
Maturity
We interview all prospective members both in-character and out-of-character to ensure they will fit our requirements for roleplay and maturity, as well as to see if they will fit in with our guild. Generally, we ask that everyone keeps their noses out of drama and that they are able to handle themselves like adults. -
Able to Adhere to Guild Themes
The guild is not for everyone! If you plan on joining, please be aware of the themes that we roleplay and be alright with maintaining them. Not everyone wants to roleplay a villainous, blight-throwing sociopath.
Does it sound like a fit for you?
