[H & A RP Event] Sworn to Peace

A carefully handwritten note, bearing the symbols of both the Horde and the Alliance, is distributed around Horde and Alliance cities - placed on billboards, left in the streets, and maybe even delivered into a few mailboxes!

Citizens of the Alliance, Citizens of the Horde. The War is over, and we are at peace. Thanks to the selfless aid of the Alliance, and the noble sacrifice of Varok Saurfang, the most evil and duplicitous Warchief in the history of the Horde has been deposed and is on the run - a criminal.

But while the war is over, the scars of the past are not so easily eliminated… and these scars go deeper than they have in any previous war. As a member of the Horde, I want to say this. Alliance; we have wronged you. While it was Sylvanas who gave the orders, many of us trusted her enough to obey them, even when we knew it was wrong. We followed her senselessly into another war - a war the Alliance neither needed nor asked for. We took innocent lives, and yet when we needed aid, the Alliance helped us. They stood by us. If we are being honest with ourselves, it was more than the Horde deserved.

We must break this cycle. A scant few years ago, the Alliance and Horde stood at this exact same crossroads, and yet we came here again, more violently than ever before. Warchief Vol’jin swore to lead the Horde with honor, but when he died, his oath died with him. This time, our oath cannot die. Not again. So I have something to propose. The Alliance already reached out to the Horde by sending their army to help us liberate Orgrimmar. It is time the Horde reaches out as well.

Let us gather in Hearthglen - in the Western Plaguelands. Let us come in peace, our weapons stowed away. And let us swear to never let this happen again. One oath was able to die… but many will stay strong. Horde; we must swear to NEVER go down this path again, no matter who leads us there. Alliance; we would humbly ask for your forgiveness, and pray that you would find it in your hearts to pledge for peace as well. If enough of us swear to peace, then we may yet be able to maintain it. Let us make sure that this oath never dies!

So please. Join with me, in Hearthglen. Let us strive together to work towards a lasting peace, and to finally break the cycle of hatred that consumes and slowly destroys our entire world.

OOC:

When will this happen?

Saturday, 28 September, at 5pm server time.

Where will this happen?

Hearthglen, Western Plaguelands. It’s a neutral location, that arguably has some significance to both factions, with none of the sharding of the cities.

What are we doing?

This is a crossfaction peace rally! An effort for both factions to come together, and to pledge to never go down this path again. The idea will be that this is where we can publicly declare our commitment not to go down this road again. There will be speeches, oaths, and general conversation - an effort to bring down the barriers of this war and start a new beginning together. (Feel free to reply here if you would like to do a speech! I’m hoping to make this pretty casual, but if we get enough people, maybe we can organise a bit of an order of presentation.

How long will it take?

Hopefully around two hours, but casual RP may continue after that.

What will I need to bring?

As it’s a crossfaction RP event, it would be ideal if you were to bring your own crossfac potions, and have the Cross RP addon downloaded. Otherwise, just bring yourself!

Speeches:
The list of reserved speech-givers is in order.

Sarestha (event introduction)
Carmen Cryptstalker
Naeryssa Dreamseed
Lahil Ahii
Mal’valen Sunspeaker
Little Fawn Stormhoof
Lord Theodore Bennas
Lyreth Velastre
Riverthorn (no name given)
Xins Ironfur

Hopefully there should be room for impromptu speeches too, but we still have time to reserve!

Though they’ve not demanded anything of us, we owe the Alliance and King Wrynn a debt of honor.

I will uphold and repay that debt. Granted, I’m not a prideful, sniveling coward.

Definitely marking my calendar for this! Just need to decide which character to bring XD maybe this one, along with some first aid kits. Gotta have something to help fix those wounds with.

Love the idea, even if I haven’t been active in the community for some time large scale.

Also now I can’t get the Kindoms of Amalar Warsworn npc’s lines out of my head saying this line…
“Sworn to War…I mean Peace. PEACE. SWORN TO PEACE”

Great idea. I wish it wasn’t so soon though, maybe after hollows end? Hard to judge when is right, but still, good luck.

Thanks for putting this together, very cool!

Not going to lie. I really really want to bring my Zandalari to this…

but given how RPs have shown him to react, really really not sure he’d be quiet and nice. A recent RP with a belf trying to tell him he had no right to be mad about Dazar’alor more or less exposed it’s a huge sore spot for him.

Xins, on the otherhand, firmly does not believe it will last and would feel cheap for promoting what will fail. He has enough friends in the Tushui to get wind of the sentiment polluting the Alliance.

I’m definitely bringing Ankessa. I have so many alts, damn it I wish I could bring them all xD I’m even tempted to dualbox so I can bring an Alliance character over too… we’ll see, we’ll see! Definitely plan to be there on Anky at least, though.

Hoping to drop by if classes permit me to! <3

You can count me in! I just finally put away my armor and tabard. Time to try and seek out people willing to break the circle of hatred.

Ughhh…I work closing on Saturdays. :frowning: All the good events happen when I’m working.

Still looking forward to this! I’ve invited my guild, so after we learn the news ICly those of us who can handle a peace rally will likely be showing up.

Might be a tad late but Lahil will be there for sure

As much as I’d like to come, and as much as Prella SHOULD come, I have already made plans for Saturday night IRL :frowning:

The King trusts the Horde’s new beginning, and so shall I. Expect me there.
