I really enjoyed leveling chars to 80. Then run some instances and then some heroic ones.
Now its almost impossible.
For a low gearscore fresh character it is difficult to find groups. Even if I write a note telling spesifically that I want a “regular” HC nearly all invites are for HC+ and then I have to start all over again.
If I create a group, most of those that I invite will leave when they hear non HC+
I dont want to spend loads of gold on crafting stuff or do PVP for gear.
Also my chars with a great gearscore, I found it relaxing to run HCs before. Now its a lot more frustrating.
When can Blizzard just stay faithfull to the original game. “never change a winning team”!
you can try to do normal heroic for the daily tokens (granted you only get 2 a day instead of 5) so it will take only 2 1/2 times longer to get 1 piece of gear over the others. The worse problem is if you are on Maladath, now you only have 30 total level 80s on the horde side to attempt to get a group.
It’s mostly players without a guild that are suffering… Honestly why would you not want to join a guild? It’s not a bad thing it’s a fun way to grow and gain some knowledge or find people who will help you without resorting to a Gear Score check?
Problem is some people are way too serious about H+, because they don’t want to risk a wipe, they want to do it fast, zero patience to playing the video game. That’s why you have high GS requirements and stuff, some people even check logs to see if you not only raid, but are parsing high in raids, just to get an invite to their H+.
I had a tank try to pull this on me when I was making a group and I had to placate him and say it’s fine, the 4k+ GS dudes with bad parses weren’t going to brick our dungeon. And it went just fine, one dude probably had a high repair bill but that’s it.
I pug heroic+ every day for badge/daily if I have time as geared tank. I ask guild first then immediately pug it to fill if there is no interest. I pug whoever cause tbh I don’t care I care more about the classes then there gear. The content is a joke I just wanna fill and smash it. However that happens it happens. People care way to much about GS I guess.
Well that logic isn’t really applicable to all… Ulduar only parses you high on Hardmodes and it’s barely week3 and many are still just clearing regular modes to get gear now? It removes tons of damage you do in the name of stars… However you can be a very good DPS and a dungeon crawler with more knowledge of the mechanics than a seasoned raider who never touches them? Just a side point… A guild will never hold back a member that has taken a few minutes to prepare and read the strategy. They will however not run with you much if you ask them to go wearing full greens…
Just try to lead some P1 raids HR what you need and once you are around maybe 4.2-4.4K GS you should be decent enough to join GDKPs. Then accumulate the gold from GDKPs and buy all the stuff you want a lot of times you can get lucky and get even bis for cheap depending on the group. Guilds are a waste of time and effort imo unless you are a top guild who actually knows what they are doing and does LC right.
Being in a guild doesn’t automatically mean you have groups of people around to help you run dungeons whenever you ask. Rdf is an obvious solution to much of this issue. I’m not saying it would eliminate the issue completely, but cross server rdf and throwing everyone looking for dungeons into the same pool could only help if you ask me.
I’m thinking you need to wait for Phase 4 to get that? Even if they decide to not remove it from the game it’s coded in for ICC patch man? To add it on now would be too much work for them. They don’t even like to fix common and known bugs.
Just remember the software engineers and developers that make this game and fix this stuff and make changes don’t answer to the people dealing with your problems…
Continually missed in these threads is how one of Wrath’s defining features was gearing alts and earning current badges in dungeons without worrying much about the group.
Right or wrong, it was central to the expansion and part of why players subbed for Classic.
People starting these threads aren’t interested in how awesome a video gamer someone is, or how resourceful someone can be to work around obstacles that Classic devs decided to put up. Calling Uber or NTB doesn’t change that Blizzard slashed your tires.
At the very least, they’re looking for a way to enjoy the gameplay loop they thought they were signing up for.
That’s changes to LFG at the least, and – frankly, my mind is changed – RDF to handle the massive disruption caused by developers writing themselves into the game like this.
There is plenty of ways to gear up to have an appropriate gs for H+ without even using dungeon drops.
Go do the icecrown and storm peaks quests. After getting the gold and emblems from that you should be able to afford 2 emblem gear items and a few of the cheap epic/blue boe items on the AH (phase 1 drops/profession items) and then pvp gear which is extreamly easy to get as well.
You will be 3.5gs+ without even doing a dungeon. More than enough to do heroic+ /p1 raids. And if you cant find a group to take you after that, you can make your own group.
RDF would have perfectly handled this situation. Blizz had an authentic system made by real devs back during Wrath which they cut that from the game, replaced it with a broken, cobjob Retail LFG tool and now Mythic dungeons that are a toxic, elitist, gatekeeping mess with no real target audience and no real purpose.
They were handed the keys to the most successful expansion in the game’s history and managed to screw it up.
Horse is out of the barn with H+ itself, but they can make good by preserving the original path. Although Birmingham’s departure and player data may not make a difference, they’re two changes. We’ll have to see.
