just bought grand marshal’s claymore, and lieutenant commander’s lamellar shoulders. i instantly put them into void storage (cause i could’nt mog them) and found out that even though i soulbound them, i still can’t transmog to’em, and that i need some vanilla/wotlk achievement to mog’em. in other words, i just got screwed outta 7 marks of honor cause i thought i could transmog to all armor higher than green quality (except for legendaries), and apparently, that’s not true.
it’s not mentioned on the armor pieces, or explained by the npcs. i had to learn from other players about this. that’s the part that bugs me the most. the loss of the marks is… well, it’s annoying.
You have played since 2013. This stipulation has been there since Transmog was put in. I remember the blue posts about it. Blizz does enough hand holding in this game
well, i had no clue about that, or meant anything against gyspy-folks. i just know it as an expression… also, i would’ve spelled it jipped, but the spell-checker tells me that’s wrong.
If Marks of Honor are that valuable to you, you could have checked your transmog window before you put them in void storage. The NPCs are right next to each other.
except the game won’t let me mog stuff unless i have it stored away/soulbound to me. so… i did’nt think of doing that. was really just buying these things for a new pally.
That’s only true of BoE gear. Stuff you buy from a vendor that is eligible to be sold back for a full refund will still appear in your xmog window. You’ll just get a dialogue box saying that you won’t be able to get a refund for it if you xmog its appearance.
You might be able to put in a ticket in order to return the gear and get the marks refunded.
might
worth the try, however this has been known for a long time. I keep saying, WoW is but a part one of a two-part game. You should ALWAYS confirm all actions in game with WoWHead. Would’ve saved you the headache.
Gypped, or Jipped, is a take on the word Gypsy.
In earlier history the Gypsies were considered cheats and scammers.
It became a stereotype.
So the word gypped is a slur on the Gypsy people.
