False. Hunter has nearly 100 more comments on US as of 10 seconds ago.
Damn it! Beta testers complain more damn it!
Lol. Sorry that this was taken from you. It’s a running gun battle between who is more ticked at their class: enh and ele shaman, holy priest, and survival hunters.
I think survival hunters are the new shadow priest.
hey at least they have 2 viable specs
I am not really sure people are on the same page with what “viable” means.
Viable should mean sufficient for the task.
Viable is confused with optimal. At least that’s my two copper.
Oddly, I play this game to optimize fun for me and find the less reviews and forum posts I read the more I enjoy it. Just the other day I was wondering if there is another game I’ve played where the playerbase expects so much extracurricular knowledge. I couldn’t think of one.
And I completely agree.
I am not sure there is a single spec in the game that is not viable. But if a spec isn’t in on world firsts or MDI teams, we act like we (people clearly not doing world firsts) can’t even play them.
I’d put sv as the new spriest. enh and ele are the new demo lock from before legion. Getting destroyed almost like they’re getting ready to get rid of it all. I gotta say with the pain I’ve been going through for some of the things for SL I’ve only kept tabs on shadow. What’s happening to holy? Back to raid heals only like in wrath? lol.
Shaman complain about the stigma others put on the class, when we go out of the way to put it on ourselves.
Its disappointing.
Holt complains about lack of personal survival for M+ and being centered around HPS output with no utility. The thought is that HPS always gets normalized amongst healers for holy priests don’t get their hook:raw HPS but keep the weaknesses above.
As someone who pushes high m+, can confirm that the stigma is warranted. Doing a high key as rdruid is literally 3-4x easier and less stressful than the same key as rsham
Sure. But that isn’t the stigma I am referring to.
People are acting like that if Shaman aren’t in the MDI or World First raiding race, they are literally unplayable.
“I can’t do my +5 on my shaman because they are ruined!”
I get at extremely high difficulty levels certain specs need help. But we are sitting here acting like the spec is in ruins, unplayable, not viable, for any content at all. When that is clearly not the case.
The doom and gloom mentality of trying to play a shaman outside of the 0.001% difficulty range will cause a long lasting stigma that isn’t accurate. And its being pushed by us. Not by the non shaman community.
Well maybe you don’t see the difference in PvE but if you are out in the world doing PvP, it’s easy to see where you stand compared to other classes. And ppl don’t like to be the punching bag and that’s why ppl cry when their class may be sufficient but not optimal.
Ok. And I get that. But its not what I am talking about.
But we (as shaman) are clearly talking about how we are not viable for PVE purposes. And that is specifically what I was replying to within context.
Every class / spec is viable for upto and including heroic raiding which is what the vast majority of ppl do . Ya it’s silly crying about that.
But people do. They cry as Alston stated and you look at their profile and they barely raid past LFR, do random RBG’s, and some +5 keys. I’m that person and I play for the same reason I play all other RPG’s. For fun.
Shaman throws lightening and has totems (the closest thing this game has to turrets). I’m in. I don’t care as long as the balance is close, which it USUALLY is.
I’d even say completely viable for mythic raiding. There are different types of mythic raiding. There is world first mythic raiding. There CE mythic raiding (but not in the world first race). There is late season CE mythic raiding. There is “you dont get CE but you still progress into it”.
People want shaman viable in world first mythic raiding. And I get that 100%. Part of that is watching people play your spec excel. Even though I barely touch PVP I watch arena tourny’s, and I love seeing the rare ele sham make it in. (An ele sham team was actually winning matches lately deep in the tourny. The team actually switched to using Ele).
My guild is trying to push from being in the “not CE just progressing” to “getting CE late”. I will be playing as shaman.
Just because an ele sham may not be in on a world first kill doesn’t mean it won’t be viable for everything else. It will come down to personal skill and how well a person plays the spec.
Balance is typically a lot closer than what people give it credit for. Weird raid mechanics imo have a larger effect on the “balance” that end up bringing fringe cases to the forefront.
Nzoth for example.
You touched on something important as well. People obsess over the meta when their personal skill matters much more
Monks are the most pissed but there are only like 317 of them in NA so they have to post non stop to keep up
