Gunslingers a one time thing?

Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep seems to make use of magical dual pistols and shadow magic.

His signature ability of course being a flurry of bullets you have to stand out of. So is Godfrey like the only gunslinger in Warcraft?

Ever since that Godfrey fight I’ve wanted a gunslinger spec for rogues with that conal ability of his.

There are probably other, as yet undiscovered, members of his ka-tet.

Gilneans are known to be gunslingers. Genn has been often protrayed with a pistol including his HotS gameplay. He even has an ultimate based on it “Gilnean roulette”

Blizz doesn’t want gunslingers in the game though. Probably because the horde races are too savage to get to that era.

my last D&D campaign had a gunslinger character, it can mess with other characters or be good, needs a skilled DM to make it work,

I suspect coding a video game to work with different levels of tech weapons n magic has it’s own nightmares.

It’s more that we already have 4 unique weapon types that are restricted to a total of 2 specs, we don’t need another to dilute the loot pools further. We need someone else to make use of guns, bows, crossbows, or warglaives before we add more weapon types.

Plus, I think most people have grown out of their Matrix phase by now.

Come on, you know we will never grow out of our matrix phase.

Gunslingers are not really a very matrix-related fantasy, I don’t think. As that was more magic/kung-fu.

And the biggest gun-slinger fantasy right now is most certainly John Wick either way.

I don’t know about you, but if we had Gunslingers like this in WoW, I would gladly main one.

Not gonna happen since that will involve adding ranged specs to the game. Perhaps if it was a pistol whipping only class then maybe.

I know, right? What is the hang up with new ranged specs/class? Has Blizz ever given a reason? I would kill for a dual wield ranged pistol/hand crossbow run and gun non-pet type class.

As far as a Gunslinger class, the biggest obstacle is managing how the secondary resource would work.
Since for a Gunslinger it would likely be ammo, you’d have a class that could heavily front-load its damage at the cost of constantly being stuck in a reload phase. That would make them a total pain to balance in PvP.

Godfrey… what Outlaw Rogues should have become.

Shame.

Love dual pistol thief spec in gw2. Adding it as a weapon type would be pretty difficult though.

Aside from sawing off existing rifles and adapting them to one handed… Which would no doubt be too much work.

Yeah, maybe something like DK runes, but bullets instead? I dunno.

If you like gunslinging, give red dead redemption 2 a try. Be careful though, it’s addictive.

I made my Rogue a Worgen for that very concept, it fits them well.

Considering the example that OP uses is Godfrey, a Forsaken, I’d imagine there are at least a few races on the Horde that could make use of fancy firearm usage. Aside from the forsaken, you’ve also got the blood elves and goblins, both of which are extremely tech-savvy.

Just 'cause the rest of the Horde are mooks doesn’t mean we all are, baby doll.
