It rubs me the wrong way that a company who makes Call of Duty changed WoW’s gun sounds to snapping rubber bands. Bring back the gun sounds. I don’t wanna fling bbs anymore.

We like cool things, such as guns and explosions.
I don’t care if it offends other people or not, honestly. Why care about the opinion of someone you don’t really know, and will likely never meet? /shrug

I thought I was the only one. I like the big blam sounds of guns. Now they make a pschoo sound. Even most of the Warrior attack sounds are muted.
Would be cool if they added different sounds to different guns/weapons that people could choose from.

Man, I love this topic because it has come full circle. They legit changed it because so many people complained that the gun shot was way too loud and make a addon to change it. It changed the gun shot to what it is now.
Blizzard saw this and made it an official change and now we’re back to people saying it is too quiet.
Once it changes, it will once again be about it being loud. Time is a circle

This is how looking for problems everywhere mushes your brain. Literally has nothing to do with that and everything to do with people using add-ons and complaining about the loud gun shot so they changed it. That was it.

With how many “shots” per minute hunters do, I could definitely see that becoming annoying.
I play with the sound off, so I am immune to such things

If it was too loud, they could have lowered it a bit. The current sound is rather silly.

It’s not just guns, it’s nether drakes, toys, and many other things that use to be loud.
Except any cat pet, the one thing they could have made a little bit quieter…

Yeah, they have been doing things like changing the volume of the more obnoxious spells for to be lower for everyone but the one casting it. They could do that kind of thing.
That said, just like there were addons to change the loud gun sound, there are addons to change sounds today. People can change it if they want.

It’s almost like maybe they should’ve made it an option in the first place so people who didn’t like it could change it and people who liked it could keep it.

This change predates the barber shop. That is how old this complaint was. Would it be cool if they added it now. Sure, but it would be cool for a lot of things as well.

Just to clarify, neither Blizzard nor Activision work on CoD. Activision especially. Studios like Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, etc. work on the CoD games and I’m pretty sure no one on WoW does.
Anyway the guns sound…Better than they have a bit in the past? Still not what I’d say ‘good’ but suitable enough. Explosive Shot sounds really, really flat though. You don’t even really hear a ‘boom’. That could use some upgrading.

if you want the old gun sounds back just get the old gun sounds addon, i use it, it works great, it even works on the newer gun based abilities like rogue’s pistol shot

Because that is where you pick different options for cosmetics. I mean, kinda self explanatory.
It also predates the glyph system as well.
But since there is none, there is an addon for it. Hence why I stated time is a circle.
As annoying as the change was from a hunter’s perspective, at least there’s an addon for this. That way I get to enjoy the old sounds without bothering anyone.
