Gun Rogue question

Hey all, FINALLY got my Rogue to level 60 YAYYYY:rofl:
Anyway, while finishing her up I got a smooth rifle for her, and I am curious if someone knows the best Rogue spec for a gun??
Should I just stick with Outlaw, or switch specs when I equip her for ranged??
Thanks in advance!!

PS. Also, how long does it take for the forums to catch up to the characters in game??
Because this is still saying I am 59, and I hit 60 about an hour ago before posting??
Does it take a while to iterate the toons here??
Thanks up front!!

What is this? Is this a meme?

Rogues shouldn’t use rifles.

We used to have a ranged slot but the only reason you’d put a bow or gun in there over a thrown weapon was to make the hunter your ninja’d from feel bad. Or as a stat stick, I guess. I miss that slot… and deadly throw interrupt.

On the small chance OP isn’t trolling: you’ll never use ranged. The guns in outlaw are cosmetic; not tied to anything but your stats and their own animations.

Sorry to confirm that - Rogues can’t use separate ranged weapons anymore (for a loooong time now). Back then it was used in practice only to pull a mob, or shrink a little HP before close quarter combat. It would be super cool Blizz would bring to life this dead feature of a Rogue.

A meme??
That is a confusing response, and no it was a legitimate question, but the more I think about it, it really doesn’t make good sense to replace a weapon in each hand with just one 2 handed weapon.
So, I guess I will likely not mess with the rifle after all, but my question actually was whether there was a particular spec for the Rogue class that was best geared towards using a ranged weapon??
In any case, I think I will stick with my current gear setup!!

Still waiting for the class/spec with 2 guns on every hand. I would play it.

I look forward to the outlandish suggestions this guy will make regarding class changes in the coming patches/expansions.

@OP a bit late on the response.

Sounds like you might be really new to playing a rogue. So, in case you did not pick up on it … rogues do NOT use ranged weapons, at all. Not in retail version.

If you play Classic, I assume there is still a ranged slot for rogues (I don’t play classic). This is primarily used as a stat slot and provides a mediocre ranged attack.

If the rifle is actually a two-handed weapon, you probably can’t even use it.

That’s Guild Wars 2. Pistol / Pistol Thief.
It works pretty well in that game. There is a Ranged rifle archetype too called Deadeye. Overall the game is decent, and worth trying out.

Warcraft Rogue is a melee class at core. I can’t imagine a ranged Rogue. It would be better off as a standalone class at that point. (Gets a big breath before whispering Tinker damage spec.)

I don’t quite understand still if OP seriously leveled using a Rifle and never wondered why every quest weapon reward only offered one-hand melee weapons. It’s still a really awesome feat to have done, but yeah… Rogues don’t use rifles.

So be it. Ot could be another sub class for hunter whatsoever, but I think the “gunslinger” character of the two pistols would be fitting rogue better.

I played two guns pistol thief in GW2, but the problem is GW2 isn’t WoW
