Guilds fronting HoR costs

Do you think it would be better served for the guild to take that 10k-15k gold and use it on the raid team as a whole by paying for enchants or something instead of funding the hand of rag for 1 person?

My guild is now starting to fund a second one.

Enchants are not that expensive. It is reasonable for a single player to be able to afford the costs of enchanting your gear.

HoR and Thunderfury are huge expenses that require an entire guild to complete and contribute as 1 person should not be responsible for footing that entire cost when getting those items are not only benefiting your entire raid but is a nice status symbol of your guild (like an achievement)

Thunderfury I agree as it provides value to the raid. HOR is like you said a status symbol or more likely an rp item. It doesn’t provide any value to the raid as it is no Lt bis for anyone.

Guild should pay for the thunderfury, not HoR. HoR is a huge waste of mats as it really doesn’t benefit the guild much. We provided ingots but the rest was on the person.

It is BiS for ret paladins and probably arms warriors. It’s great for PvP1

I think our guild provided most of the ingots for our Warrior’s HoR, but he got the eye because he had 48 of the Arcanite Bars ready to go and money for the excess Ingots in his pockets.

He had the hand the day after the eye dropped

Bre is, not hor for either of those specs.

HoR is a meme item and should only go to a player willing to farm a vast majority of the gold themselves. Expecting a raid team to pay for an item that brings little to no benefit to anyone other than that individual is awful.

Spend the money on consumes and pass them out to the raiders instead.

If BiS is looking good while on the permabench because your raid got wise, yep. You guys are obliged to have it as long as you stop clogging up raid spots after you get one.

Hey, bruh, go back to 2005 where you belong. The content isn’t hard enough to warrant being a hyper elitist jackwagon.

I help my guildies by donating a every few ACs.

So far we got 2 tanks lined up to craft TF asap.

TF I completely understand it’s HOR I’m specifically referring to.

If a guild is collecting all the ingots, all the fiery cores, all the green and blue drops, and only boss purps are being handed out to the guild then I see no reason why the guild shouldn’t at least cover a lot of the higher priced items like ingots and the like for HoR. Obviously it’s more of a status symbol than anything else, but if the guild bank is collecting thousands of gold from the guilds work every week, it should help foot the bills.

This. If the guild is collecting the sellable/usable items needed to make it, why on EARTH would they require a guild member to go elsewhere to pay for them?

HoR isn’t worth it.

Whoever goes for it should farm themselves.

Guild is basically helping friends at expense of everyone else.

Because they could sell those items and use that money to buy enchants and consumes for all their raiders. HoR is nearly worthless in any raiding environment and its just funneling resources into something that doesn’t help the group at all.

Stealing this insult, I love it!

It’s mostly just advertisement for the guild cause HoR is not that good for raiding. Especcially on alliance. If only it was Sword of Ragnaros! /sigh
