Guilds are breaking apart

From these horrendous queues. Please add sharding to capital cities to help accommodate your playerbase during these troubled times. The paid transfer closure was a good start, but that only fixes things perceiveably getting worse. In this case, we need a true fix.

Why aren’t they taking advantage of the free transfer option?

Because we saw it for what it truly was, abandonment of faith. We have faith as a day 1 guild things will balance out with the queue, as long as fixes are put into place, albeit even temporary ones. And what we have been given as option(s) were obviously not viable solutions to the issue.

Everyone else will move.

Damnit Gern; I was going to post that. You’re really killing it today.

Obviously “guilds breaking up” is a more viable solution than players ever lifting a finger themselves to make things better.

Or the developer of the game could put into place a fix and not leave it on the playerbase? “With the click of a button” - let that line resonate

This is a really dumb post.

They did put in place a fix - free transfers. Players reject it because it requires the slightest bit of responsibility on their part.

Okay, buddy. lol

I heard retail has sharding, perhaps you’d prefer that version of the game

I play on a smaller server and have a fantastic time. I don’t know why so many people think they are “dead” or otherwise somehow bad places to play.

No, you were just a bunch of stubborn idiots.

If you had moved as a guild to a place where you could play together without a queue you wouldn’t be here right now.

This was DEFINITELY a player created problem, and you only have yourselves to blame.

You got one, use it, or suffer where you are. Your choice.

how’s the queue going to balance out if people are refusing to transfer?

Honestly, because here’s what tends to happen as a result of queues. You end up with 3 groups of people within your guild.

  1. The die-hard ‘it will get better, we are not transferring’ group. They will go to extreme lengths to remain logged on and avoid queues, or simply wait it out. Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t, is their motto. They fear group 2 will return after queues disappear to a deserted guild, and believe group 3 just isnt trying hard enough.

  2. The ‘screw it’ group. They miss a raid or two due to queues and just quit entirely, washing their hands of the game in full. They have no desire to be forced to transfer and are just disgusted by the entire situation. These players may come back at a later date. They may not.

  3. The ‘transfer now’ crowd. At perpetual odds with group 1, they will constantly campaign for a server move and try to convince other players to come with them, they’re frequently unwilling or unable to make attempts to bypass the queue and refuse to alter their login schedule either out of necessity or stubbornness. They tend to complain constantly and never stop their campaign for server transfers.

If you have an even split of group 1 and 3, you’re in for a bad time, especially as you lose players to the group 2 mentality.

This leads to guild splits and guild collapses. It is not fun for anyone.

Well said Niia, well said.

That just sounds like a guild management issue, tbh. If people are having difficulty making raid times due to queues, and the leadership has decided not to transfer, then perhaps simply letting people know that there are queues for now, but the situation is expected to improve once the Coronavirus quarantines are over (if that’s the case, or whatever the leadership determines), and that it is OK to miss some raids for the time being.

That’s 1 scenario, but there are several others. Yes, it’s possible that Blizzard make some changes. But whatever those changes are, some people and some groups will be negatively affected by them. Ultimately, It’s up to the guild leadership to manage the guild, and it’s up to the individual to manage themselves.

Hopefully though, we’re able to come out of this whole worldwide issue sooner rather than later.

If you just wait out the pandemic the game will go back to dying and back to normal.

The fact that you are here promoting sharding is proof that the collective player base is Bi-Polar and will never be satisfied with ANY solution Blizzard has.

These forums were on fire when Classic was released severely attacking Blizzard for sharding, layering and any such solution
lest folks forget.

But, you just want a solution to YOUR problem
NOT the community’s problem. But, all you folks who make post like this act like you care about the entire community when you literally and factually don’t.

You only care about you and your friends.

That’s fine, but don’t pretend to speak for what is best for the community.

Judging by your response it is clear who the bipolar one is, and that is you. For me and my friends, funny guy. If I’m friends with everybody stuck in 6 hour queues that randomly dc’s you, then sure, but that sounds like a upset group of friends paying monthly for a game with overlooked/underlooked temporary fixes.
