Yeah, this seems to happen a ton with M+. Even the last raid-grade guild I was in, way back before I got this job and its awkwardness (the schedule’s consistent at least, but when that means you consistently miss prime time … and where it seems like people have increasingly noticeably consolidated into prime time over the past few years, there are a lot fewer night owls and I’m not even sure what the driver for that is), was like this.
Raiding? Sure, I was a trusted regular raider.
M+? Nah. I’d basically be on the cutting room floor the moment raid ended. Maybe once or twice I’d get an invite to a M+. At least once I was told I could go to an M+ and then replaced at the last minute (granted this may have had to do with class comp, but still) …
And these tales are the reality of guild life, yet “the community” consistently tries to act as if joining a guild, or even finding a guild you get along with on the whole, is some kind of magic solution, even though it’s pretty clear it’s otherwise. Then hot takes and cynicism set in as those who still won’t give up try and figure out what the root of the logjam might really be, accusations of trolling and toxicity are tossed out from each side, and quite frankly, nobody’s happy.
Which is boggling, because I thought we played games to be happy.
Maybe that’s some kind of old school dinosaur thought process at this point? LOL

I had played hardcore up and until Xmas of 2017. My PC died, and then I went through a breakup a few months later. Wasn’t able to return to the game until this past summer. All of my old raiding friends have quit, except for a cpl who are in their own guilds now…all spread out. I was still GM of our old guild, so I made it my own personal guild. It’s cool in a way, cause the achievements and memories are all intact still. There’s times that I miss having a guild full of people to chat to and raid with…but it’s chill just being with myself. Makes it easy to share supplies and gold with my various alts…and no worries of having to be social when I feel like being alone…or having to meet schedules with 10+ other people. I have freedom, while still enjoying the game.

Problem is they need you for raid but they dont need you for m+ since they got their own groups… I was in many guilds and most would come for low key only on their alts, and i was puggin my higher keys most of the time so whats the point of being in the guild and i dont raid
This is my g-bank. All the characters are mine (and the lowbies are my SO’s…)
Would be killer if Blizz would give us a realm-wide bank so that I wouldn’t need to have a guild of my own. Space for junk > people trying to get me to do content tho
I guess maybe I wouldn’t be opposed to being in an actual functioning guild but losing my Malazan reference would suck.

I am about the only one in my guild. I do have a few guildmates fortunately and a few IRL friends. but I still am part of a few communites to join in on some content. Made my guild strictly for the name and all the perks with having a guild bank. it is an adult guild if anyone does Join. While Id like to have more peeps, Im not going anywhere regardless.

Nice.
I am not sure if you noticed this or forgot about it afterwards but you’re missing a socket for your neck. You can get a T3 setting for it and get 3 total, its great. I wasn’t gonna say it in case you took it the wrong way but you sound chill and I genuinely wanted to help you out by saying this because it’d definitely help you in higher keys when you do them!
lol thank you. I know, and decided not to pop a 3rd on it because it’s not a good neck for me. I didn’t even want to waste valor on upgrading it, but I had so much and did it anyway.

I didnt make them myself but i “inherited” 2 seperate guilds that died in a period of my absense from the game. Both times i came back and the guild was dead and i just overthrew the gm and cleared it out to use the guild bank for my personal storage and passed gm position to a bank alt.
Then you should get a 418 lariat, its OP for now! Not that expensive, I bought the mats for like 3-4K and the tipping for making it costed me 2K. Then I just bought like extra T2 mats for the guy to keep trying to make it to a 418. Took like 3-5 attempts but it worked out, the dude had a 40% chance for a 418 without the mettle.

From the day I started playing (getting to be a long time now) I’ve wanted a private guild for my alts, like I’d made for other games I’d played. Alas, I find the hoops and limitations in WoW make it more trouble than I want to go through.

I do want to find a good guild, i want to do m+ with an active guild, but all i can find are these dead barren wasteland guilds and it sucks
It’s super easy to make your own guild.

Then why haven’t I done it?
Because I haven’t done it,
And I wanted it.
So therefore your “it’s easy” claim seems to be flawed.
Yeahhhh lol. I’m being dumb and in solidarity with my pally friend who is a JC I’m not making one until she gets the recipe. We’ve both killed so many elemental rares it’s sickening. But I’ve waited this long!

If you have enough gold to pay for signatures it is. I just bought this one from someone in Orgrimmar for 25K gold.

If you look up Kraken Latte on YouTube, she has a very easy step-by-step guide to set a private guild. The only trouble or hassle I found was just getting 5 people who weren’t idle to sign the charter. Good luck
When I tried New World while on my break in Shadowlands, one of the things that struck me was that I could create my own private guild instantly. No stupid signatures, no begging or bribing. Just boom, done in 2 minutes.
I agree that this is something that could or should be overhauled if people want to create personal guilds. I know you said you had some challenges with getting yours started. I really think of you watch her video, it’ll make things easier for you. Good luck.
