Your friend will need to put in a ticket to have the authenticator removed.

There should be the option to continue without logging in.
They may need to do it from an incognito browser without being logged into the forums/battle.net site.
Edit to add:
If they make a throwaway battle.net account with a different email but same personal details, they can use that instead and it will let them track the ticket too.
