Guild Wars 2 way better game

Then Final Fantasy 14.

World of Warcraft is still king of the MMORPG.

Meh, I prefer ESO. Never could get into GW2…and FF14 wasn’t that great.

I heard of it, I think I might try it if the gearing system is actually as people say it is. Maybe I’m mixing it up with another game but apparently you just gear up once and you can enjoy all the content after that forever.

I played GW2 for like 20m back in 2012, complete waste of money

World of Warcraft is the king of Nostalgia. GW2 and FFXIV are both better games in terms of quality and what you get for your time put in compared to WoW. GW2 especially, with its emphasis on exploration and gear mattering throughout expansions, instead of our cruddy Heart of Azeroth and Legiondaries sitting in the bank. Not to mention no Guild Halls, Dyes, abandoned PVP, no underwater combat, boat mounts coming and additional specializations for classes and more. Let’s not even get into FFXIV… plenty of threads on why already.

To each their own , kinda shameless to bring them up for a fight when each fill in a certain aspect of mmorpg more than the others

I liked GW2 back when I played it. I just ran out of time and such and never really got back to it.

But what I really liked was there was ā€œno talent buiidsā€ outside of the advanced specs. Your talent bar was based on your equips and changing them out was simply a matter of changing your weapons.

Back when I played GW2, I ran a Charr Engineer,so he could use dual guns, a gun and a shield, and a two-handed rifle. And his talent bar would be based on what he was using at the time. (Eventually I upgraded to a scrapper where he used hammers and the new drone-like weapons for ā€œspellsā€)

Oh yeah, their dye system is great and fun to collect.

Plus their mounts they introduced with this last expansion was very innovative and fun.

Does Guild Wars 2 still have those $100 mounts?

Not sure bud.

I know you can buy skins for your mounts on the gem store.

Yea these games that have been out forever and are barely limping along are total undiscovered gems!

I think korthia sucks too but now we’re just being ridiculous

Yeah, that gem store got me good with some of those toys. Especially the musical instruments, very cute but expensive stuff. Kinda why I don’t play it any more, because I know I’d just keep buying and buying and buying…

Ah, well… at least I made some phat beats.

As much as I dislike FF 14, I don’t know if GW 2 is better. I hate GW 2 combat system and leveling system where you basically just farm for levels vs actual full quest systems like almost every other mmo. If FF had a better map and leveling path then I would say FF is a lot better than GW 2.

I did a 2 year stint in ESO and it’s good, but not as good as WoW.

i played the free trial of guild wars 2… i liked how my necromancers abilities changed based on what weapon i was using. thought that was pretty-cool.

Yes this is true, it’s a good game for casuals. I could log back in right now after not playing for 3 years and still have the same power level now as I did back then.

It’s a horizontal progression end game in GW2

Great combat system and very interesting classes and also story is pretty good.

All that being said it’s not the game for me due to end game

Ehh, don’t get me wrong, i love GW2’s trappings more then FF14’s and i spent way more time on GW2 then FF14. The way GW2 married story with some pretty good engine that priorizies action and makes exploration rewarding (in both beautiful locale and giving actual rewards) is something i can’t get enough of.

But this is pretty subjective to say which is better, i think they both hit their personal bullseyes.
