Guild Size

Does anyone know the cap to how many people can be part of a guild in Classic?

Really hoping it’s not some huge number. Bleh!

Lots. The answer is Lots.

I don’t really remember the cap, but I think at one time my guild No Mercy had over 100 members.

Like 1k or 80?

I’m not a huge fan of 1000 toons. Granted, I do enjoy an alt or possibly two.

I always thought about 80 members would’ve a been good sized—two full 40-member Raids.

At our peak we used to average about 50 guildies on most times.

I believe the original guild size limit was a bit over 300. That might be a private server thing, but pretty sure that was around the limit. It’s one of the handful of Vanilla limits I would change.

Should alts be in the main guild or should they be in a secondary guild?

Would you raise or lower the limit, Alsoria?

Would you prefer a larger or smaller sized guild?

No Mercy allowed alts, but I asked that people label their alts and Mains.

I think alts might’ve been one of the reasons the guild size limit was high.

I do like the idea of people labeling their alts. I think my last guild had that which was very nice.

I think that once you’re a lot of people its better to make a secondary guild for all the alts.

Asmonds guild had 1000 members on beta.

The problem we had in No Mercy, in Mid- to Late- Vanilla was that people wanted to level alts without using their alts to level lowbie new guildies.

Players would cluster flux with their friends on their alts.

I wonder if they make this only for the beta tho, but this is why I taught that the limit was 1k. I would be fine with it to be honest. As long as the GM and the officers do their job in keeping respect in the chat and things like that.

Ohhh that’s an excellent concept. That didn’t really dawn on me.

Excellent idea, I hope we will imitate that.

I don’t suppose you’re looking for a Horde guild are ya?

Go Horde or Go Gnome (just google it for the website).

We’d live to have you!

I think it was 500 at first, I remember a mega guild on my server. They may have adjusted the cap to 1000 at some point. Editing this post because they did adjust the cap to 1000 in Cataclysm, google it if you don’t believe me. In Vanilla, only 500 characters could show in the UI.

I am always on the lookout for a good-to-great Horde Guild, Salvera.

I had the Full GM experience in Vanilla, but right now, in Classic, I would much rather just be a Tank in an Emeritus position as Guild Consiglieri, lol. (During PvP I would even be willing to be a Wartime Consiglieri, lol.)
