Guild Roster Limit is too low

Our guild is always bumping up against the guild roster cap. The situation was made worse when everyone added a Dracthyr alt. With the upcoming cross faction guilds in 10.1 we really need a bump up in the guild roster cap!

Time to prune the inactives.

That would be nice, with the 50 characters per realm change, it would be useful if everyone could have all their characters in the guild. Seems like a harmless change and other people would have more fun so go for it.

Make a separate guild for alts.

We have done that in the past when our guilds use to constantly run up against the character limit. Problem was sometimes there was more activity in the alternate guild / guilds than the main guild and without a way to chat between the main guild and alternate guilds made it a no go. Even with making channels in game and 3rd party chat programs it still makes the guild feel dead when you hit G and see almost no one online but the 3rd party chat might show 100 people playing.

We don’t keep inactives around. These are all active players and their alts.

We have an alts guild. We allow 4 characters per person in the main guild. It does not take many people to hit the 1K character level cap.

So 250 people in your guild and they are active? Not disputing, but that’s truly impressive

Agreed on the alt guild communication with main guild. I had my mage in the alt guild and felt alone most of the time. That is why I play my other toons in the main guild, as I like the ability to communicate and help others when I can. I play 9 toons on the realm, but have many “guildless” or I keep trying out other guilds. None match up to the Echoes of Infinity main guild. Upping the limit, especially if I were to move my horde toons over, would be great to be with my team, so to speak.

I know when I eventually become officers of the guilds, I use to join I eventually would be put in charge of maintaining the guild roster. Tagging who was an alt who hadn’t played in a while and pruning the roster. Guild I am in now is so easy to manage because it’s me + 17 of my alternates.

Would not even be in this guild I made if it wasn’t for the whispers to join guilds some with names that where just crap. Not being able to raid anymore due to playtimes and do dungeons just keeps me solo, though would be nice like my old days in Star Wars: the Old Republic and Ever Quest ][ when people who needed an extra tank, or healer would say are you free to help us out and not worry about loot as I am not there for that but to play the game and be as helpful as I can.

There’s an addon called GreenWall that can handle that issue, if your guild leaders use it to link the guilds, anyone who is in either guild with the addon will basically see the chats from both guilds merged.

Greenwall is helpful, but it’s a bandaid for the real problem of the guilds roster cap being too low.

Are all of our people active 24/7? Of course not. But throughout the week we have more than 250 people logging on.

that’s what communities are for, main/alt guild can communicate with that

I bet if you typed /ginfo you’d find out that you have a staggeringly low number of unique accounts. I also bet that if you kicked the inactive characters you’d have about 600 extra slots open. Your guild has 339 max levels, a really quick glance at your roster looks like less than 100 characters being leveled in DF (most of which won’t hit 70 or are even being played), the rest are probably mostly inactive and can be removed.

They should increase the guild size to accommodate not only the evokers, but the upcoming cross-faction toons that eventually want to join our guild. It amazes me that people try so hard to justify why the guild roster size should not be increased.

Kiper we are just a few months into the expansion. Those alt characters will get more play time as main characters get maxed in gear and have completed content. On a further note why should it matter if a person wants 50 characters and bounces around on them. There is no real reason that the guilds should be limited to 1K members. Especially since cross faction guilds are going to be a thing in a few months.

Kiper Just an FYI has 611 accounts. Kiper’s guild has just 50 members and only 2 level 70s. Leave it to someone like Kiper in a small inactive guild to want to deny larger guilds from being able to bring in all their alts.

that’s what discord is for?

There is no harm increasing the guild roster to 2000 slots minimum. Or maybe 1000-2000 accounts per guild.
