1,000 guild members does not meet the need. Most people run multiple alts. 100 people with 10 alts tops out the guild roster. Our guild routinely bumps up against the 1K cap.
With the amount of people who will create an Evoker for Dragonflight we need a higher cap, much higher. The data storage needed for a guild can’t take that much space. If the cap was 5K we would have a lot more breathing room.
The argument that a large guild cap causes small guilds to struggle falls flat when you realize what is eating up the guild roster space is mostly alts. Dragonflight is supposed to be more alt friendly. Make it easier on the guilds by raising the guild cap!

I’ve been in Guilds that had that problem too. I think 5K would be a good limit or at minimum 2.5K.

Agree. I’m in a dead guild. But I have 16 characters in it by myself. xD On a Horde server I have like 16 or so characters in someon elses guild. I have many alts and like them all in the same place xD

In the meantime, you could do Echoes of Infinity, Echooes of Infinity, Echoes of Echoes of Infinity, and so on!

Yes Blizzard PLEASE increase the guild roster cap. Our guild is like a family. Please increase the cap even to 2000 or 3000. It shouldn’t be a difficult change. Thank you.

Today we went through our guild roster. We moved some alts to our alt guild but that was only 30 characters. We have a ton of people who have been away for a year. Kicking those characters out does not solve the problem since it is likely a great many of them will return for dragonflight.
Blizzard it is simply a number change from a 1 to a 5. Make the guild roster 5,000 so we won’t constantly be bumping up against the cap!

So very true. I am also in Echoes of Infinity with my mage in the alt guild. I cannot see the communications and cannot engage with others. It is like being in a separate guild all together and I don’t want to take up space in the main guild as I know others are coming back. (Magdrael - Echoes of Infinity) I have a couple of other toons in the main guild.

I personally hate giant guilds…. There’s no point in having a community of people if your guild is an entire server. Personally I’d prefer like 50-60 people in a guild that all depends on one another. A small community that knows each other is much more fun.
I prefer large Guilds because there’s a better chance of finding people who enjoy the things I do other than the standard Dungeons and Raiding.
Plus it’s amazing how fast a Guild can fill up when people have 10+ Alts.

Why not change the guild member count to accounts, not characters? Yes, I know there are probably some difficult technical challenges in doing this, but Blizzard is a world class game developer, surely they can figure out how to make it happen.
Without some kind of significant ceiling relief on the number of guild members, cross-faction guilds are in serious jeopardy.

Even a guild with 50-60 people in it can run into problems with the guild cap being 1K. 50 people with 10 alts is 500 right there. As far as big guilds our guild only does personal guild invites and we constantly bump up against the 1K cap and that’s with only allowing 3 alts each. I like to have enough people in the guild that you can easily find someone to quest with, raid with, and just in general hang out with.

If your family has a 1000 people in it you need to use contraception
This isn’t family, this is a community. Cities will less than 1,000 people are pretty small cities. As far as guilds go having room for enough people and their alts would be nice.
