Why the Guild Member Cap Needs to Be Increased & A Great Vault Icon for Alts
With the merging of factions and realms in World of Warcraft, many guilds are now seeing an influx of players, pushing the guild member cap to its limits. As guilds expand, especially with players maintaining multiple characters, a cap of 1,000 members no longer suffices to accommodate everyone. To foster a thriving, inclusive community, the guild member cap should be increased to better support large, multi-character guilds.
Additionally, with so many alts in play, it would be incredibly helpful to have a “Great Vault” icon displayed on the character login screen. This would allow players to quickly see which characters have access to the vault, streamlining the process and saving time for those with multiple alts managing different rewards.

These are great ideas! As someone with many alts, having them all in the same guild would be a great timesaver. And the Great Vault icon would save even more time.

Agreed. The is the most alt-friendly expansion ever and the players that I know are leveling alts because they can. And, of course, they want to join the guild because there is where the chat, friends and perks are.

we have been waiting for a long time for Blizzard to raise the guild cap. this has been needed for a long time and would allow those with multiple alts to remain in the same guild with their friends and family. i would have assumed when the amount of toons was increased that they would have expanded the amount of guild players would have increased simultaneously. having the great vault icon like the now added mail icon would also be a great improvement.

Bashiok answered this in 2010 when they originally raised the cap:
Guild levelling in Cataclysm features unified progression powered by a series of complex systems that track the contributions of all guild members. The larger the guild, the bigger the impact on these systems. We found it necessary to determine a maximum guild size to ensure continued performance now and into the future.
The hard cap has been raised from 600 members to 1000 members, but we still have no plans to implement options to allow a guild master to extend the hard cap.
Yes please!

It’s hard for me to offer my opinions on guild caps because I prefer small guilds but as long as there no programming limitations I see no reason why there should be a limit.
I would love to see vault tag though. I am always forgetting who has done what or who has stuff to claim.

With the implementation of cross faction guilds it only makes sense to allow larger guilds.
Also after things like Remix that allowed us to increase our number of alts easily it puts a strain on already large guilds .
The guild I am in has had to create a secondary alt guild to serve our needs and that could be fixed by raising the cap.
As far as adding a GV icon on the toon page- It would help simplify the player experience tremendously.
When Blizz added the ability to see each toons gold & other info on the char screen it saved me lots of time honestly.

HI friend, i have almost 250 active guild friends. Just by allowing 3 or 4 alts in the guild that is already cap. But also, we have the Great Vault Icon idea also!
When you have to resort to a spreadsheet because Blizzard won’t implement a simple icon or an ingame means of tracking who has a vault

Very grateful that your not actually part of the dev team. I would hate all of these ideas if implemented.
