Guild Interest Check: BotH-Inspired RP Guild

BotH=Brotherhood of the Horse

Hello, thanks for reading!

First, I’m not talking about the “gaming community” that has the name on certain servers. I’m talking about the lore group, the old Knights of Stormwind that were decimated by the Horde.

Now with that out of the way: Are there any folks interested in classic era version of something like this?

My initial thoughts are that my character, inspired by the tales of their valor and a bit disillusioned with existing paramilitary forces, decides to found her own. She’s a Lordaeron native, so there’s naturally going to be a lot of focus on that (similar to other guilds: cleansing the north, fighting the undead, etc.) but I’d also like there to be a focus in and around Stormwind.

It is the last bastion, after all.

Names are fickle, but I have some ideas.

What I’d be looking for are a few interested people to get this thing off the ground, if they agree with the following basic rules in mind:

  1. We are lore abiding. So, new and experienced folks welcome, but we will help guide the new folks and politely distance ourselves from any Son of Arthas or 200 year old night elf born on Teldrassil that doesn’t realize they’ve made a mistake/are unwilling to change it.

  2. A brief interview process. Probably done by me for a while, to alleviate any burden on officers. This will be part OOC, part IC, as their introduction to the guild.

  3. We will be an RP guild first but participate in other aspects of the game. Unlike other guilds though, I do not want an OOC rank (outside of alts!), nor do I want an open door discord. I believe smaller is better and quality is always better than quantity, but if something grows, I won’t stop it.

That’s it!

Oh, and don’t be a dick. Golden rule of guilds.

If you’re interested at all, please contact Israbelle in game or find me on discord at WhiteDwarf # 8050

THANKS AND I WILL SEE YOU IN GAME!

Would the guild be interested in educating role-players who want to learn both the lore and the Alliance?

I mastered, or tried to master, a guild back on a Horde Khadgar, and had a mad guild member who had mastered the lore, or seemingly.

I’ve studied the Chronicles, though not thoroughly enough, and I would be interested in playing a war-orphaned and outraged young Rogue, committed to both becoming a forward scout and learning the lore via exploration.

I am considering the name Quince, from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and after a character in my novels.

Does any of my cogitation work for your guild?

Hi Qthulu!

Nobody needs to be a lore master! I am definitely not an all knowing lore encyclopedia and frequently just look at wowpedia if I am unsure… I don’t expect everyone to do that though!

So to answer your question, absolutely. I actually really enjoy guiding new people with the lore! I find most are like “Oh crap, I didn’t realize X, I will fix it!” and helping them retain their character but making it work within the world.

The only folks I would personally not welcome are those who refuse to budge on something that is blatantly breaking timeline or lore or somethin’. Can’t share the world if we can’t agree on said world.

Hope that helps!

And, while I’m here, this is still very much a thing. Please let me know if you have interest!
