Guild idea for those with mental/physical challenges

Hi I was wondering if anyone would be up for creating a guild that would be safe for those with mental health issues and/or physical limitations?

I’ve played since 2008 and have been in many guilds, but due to my mental health issues I’ve never been able to talk in comms or socialize at all being I am not sure how those without those type of issues would react in case I have some issues while playing (I’m Schizophrenic, Bipolar and have panic disorder).

Just a thought wanted to see if others with issues would want to get together?

i would not have any troubles with someone with health issues. all i would care about if they are having fun.

and i wish you all luck in you’re build/search for a guild family.

Thank you very much wish more people understood better and focused on fun instead of so many focusing only on min/maxing (there’s nothing wrong with that, but some of us get stressed easily and makes it not so fun). Thank you for your response.

Totally get it. It’s why i just play solo. I have anxiety attacks when in guilds. I left 2 different ones right before SL came out without ever playing with them, because of it.

Honestly yea, should make one

Everyone deserves to enjoy the game as much as they can, so if being in a guild with members who can understand their struggles helps them, that’d be great

Just expect people to troll it

Ty yeah think I’m going to create one today or tomorrow and expect the trolls but I guess thats to be expected especially since its WoW lol

Think I may name the guild Forgot My Meds lol

As someone who forgets things easily

That’s a solid name lol

Those, and cycling right now. It’s weird because my perception gets skewed as well when reading posts.

Too much isolating makes it worse, but you can’t explain to everyone what’s happening nor should I, it’s not their problem to learn how to deal with me, nor the game. Though making a dungeon necessary in Bastion ticked me off a little. - a little. Overcame it.

Though a guild like that sounds tempting I can visualize the downside as well when a bunch of emo people with various degrees of issues on any given day… pressure is pressure in every guild unless you don’t talk.

Pretty sure there are already guilds that cater to various disabilities. I seem to recall reading specifically about a deaf guild who obviously doesn’t use voice comms and how they handle raid encounters without that. Given how niche and probably few affected players there are that fit into a particular disability that still actively play the game and/or want to do content, you’d be better off looking into that instead of trying to create one from scratch.

this sounds like some sort of bait

Sounds like you will fit in with most.
One of our guild tanks had some mental health issues that impacted his gameplay heavily, won’t get into the specifics.

We got together and knocked out some content all while enjoying each other’s company. Guild ultimately fell apart when people started to try sleeping with each other.

ty for the positive reply. I have found it hard due to there still being a stigma regarding mental health. When joining a guild I just wouldn’t want to say “Thanks for the invite! BTW I have (enter here)”. I think I will still try to make my own guild to find others, worse thing that could happen would be no one joins but at least I can say I tried.

is this a troll thread?

Why would I troll about something like this??

Nobody is perfect, OP. A good friend with schizophrenia plays in my heroic raiding guild. No need to segregate, imo.

I’m not trying to segregate, anyone would be welcome but under the understanding that the guild also has members who have some struggles and can accommodate that, and a place others have a safe and fun place to play without having to worry.

Well, sounds like a nice idea if it gives people a chance to do more…who might not otherwise!

I’d like to hope that mental illnesses are further destigmatized as time goes on. Make the norm all inclusive (still gotta play at the level of the content though).

I agree.

Yes we would still need to play and try, but say someone has to take a break or leave the raid/rbg or whatever due to a flare up or issue due to their limitations it would be understood and that person wouldn’t be berated, demoted or kicked from the guild.

Learning new content or someone who needs help we can take some extra time and learn together.

Just find most don’t have a clue about what goes on with those with serious challenges so figured a place where alot do understand would be good.

Also a place that feels safe is more likely a place people could talk and socialize not just about the game but help each others problems, kind of like a support group who plays WoW lol.
