Guild group achievements should be minimum ratio rather than minimum numbers

its hard enough to recruit ANYONE to a new guild when 99% of the people you see are in a different server group and cannot be invited. actually straight up killed any ambition i had for inviting anyone to my guild. and so far as i can tell, guild finder is useless. had my guild listed for 20 days and not a single applicant. but to try and get 8 people out of the 0 you can realistically recruit to tag along for legacy content is simply absurd.

let people solo stuff. the community is already dead (need to be around the same people people to foster one of those), its already a single player game in all but name (or true end game which most players dont actually reach). so just let us play alone without feeling shafted for the choice.

Have you been trying to recruit with guild finder alone? You are still going to need an old fashioned recruit macro for trade chat and actually talk to people.

 what? Guilds are cross-server, now.

Always has been.

Anyone from any server or faction can join your guild now. Recruiting aint easy and most dont find it fun
though if you want to run a guild you will need to do recruiting, keep an eye out for a recruiting officer to ease the workload.

Wait
 faction? This I didn’t know.

you can only recruit people from your server ‘group’, not just anyone. learned that the hard way when i recruited ten people i couldnt recruit. most server groups have 3 servers. anyone outside that group cant be recruited.

edit - i run a guild that spans two games with over 700 members at its peak. i know how to recruit and manage a guild. but shards and the server group limitations are why im not even gonna try here. i just want to be able to solo and not feel like im being gatekept.

Not true, I just tested with a friend.

His Horde DH from Barthilas was able to join my dead guild on Frostmourne, Barthilas isn’t merged with any other oceanic realm.

If you are talking battle groups, those stopped existing a long time ago.

Now I’m testing a US toon trying to join an oceanic guild.

Edit: Was able to join a Barthilas guild from a Lightbringer toon.

unless they changed it with the very last patch, it works as i said. i recruited a ton of people and every time i sent the actual invite i got a message about them not being on the right server or something (forget specifically). im on kalecgos, and the ONLY people i could invite were on that server, or one of the other three in my group as listed here.

if they removed that limitation in the last update, then it was ANOTHER brilliant decision not including it in the patchnotes.

I don’t know what to say, I just joined an oceanic guild from a US realm.

Also that link you posted was updated 1 year ago, thats when.

Anyone can join your guild from and faction or any server but unfortunately if they are on a different faction, a player of the same faction must invite. A workaround is adding them to bnet or an invite link through a community!

Not true.

Like I said, I was able to invite my friends guildiess horde DH on barthilas to my dead alliance guild on frostmourne, I was a worgen DK.

ive been playing my class since classic, i know how to play it

sub tank dps

deja vu

it was two weeks ago i was unable to recruit anyone outside my very small server group (which i NEVER saw anyone from in game). if it was changed to actually work as advertised it was in the very last patch. and if so, great. except for cross faction. thats just stupid. i miss war in warcraft, the removal of pvp servers simply does not make sense to me.

but regardless, doesnt change my original point. guild achieves shouldnt require 8 people grouping up to do content that one player can solo naked. any group with, say, 70% of a single guild should count as a guild group. including soloing.

Since cross-realm guilds went into the game, it has never worked as you said.

Battlegroups ceased having any meaning YEARS ago.

A) then why the [expletive deleted] could i not invite ten people i recruited in game in a row, until i found someone from my server group? who i could recruit and is the only not-me person in guild.

B) why do people prefer to argue minutia rather than comment on the ACTUAL POINT OF THE POST?

We cant possibly answer that because we dont know what you did.

But 100% guilds are cross server/faction now

sending a guild invite isnt rocket science, there isnt a lot of ways to do it. perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, i was bugged out as a result of my character being locked in a BFA phase because of the exile’s reach start issue they only just resolved. edit - though even that possible explanation doesnt explain why i couldnt invite ten people, then i COULD invite people from my server group. but whatever. if i meet someone cool (and this discussion is not giving me hope) i will try to invite them.

but more importantly
it is NOT RELEVANT TO MY ACTUAL BLOODY POINT IM TRYING TO MAKE HERE.

let’s all just agree im brain dead, stupid, or WHATEVER IT WILL TAKE, to get you people to stop going on and on and on about something that was barely tangential to my point.

Yeah, well the problem is that your point isn’t very good. WoW isnt a single player game and will likely never make group rewards available for solo play. In my opinion, it would be horrible as a solo RPG without a complete redesign.

Just be happy they gave us delves
and raid story mode
and follower dungeons

not asking for that ffs. im asking to not have to find 8 people willing to group up under the same guild tag running the most worthless and boring content in the game just for a guild unlock. that isnt group CONTENT, that is group MISERY. and wholly unnecessary.

im all for doing things the hard way (i earned my winterspring tiger in wotlk, and was pushing top raid content with my guild back then too), but forcing people to group up to do old raids is not CONTENT.

I can only assume the people that use guild finder are the same kind that join guilds via trade chat then go “but I’m in a guild and that didn’t solve me not getting invited to raids or mplus”. Makes you really wonder about this type of person though as you can give a chimp a tool and they learn how to use it yet give the wow player base tools like wowprog ect and they still have no idea.
