Does anyone know of a mod that allows one to set up a point system for items donated to the guild and tracks them on an individual character basis?
I don’t know if one and it sounds like some scummy leach guild nonsense that no one should be any part of.
Need more context? What is the goal of this?
I’d like to create a point system based on items that get donated to the guild and reward those that participate in helping other guildies more. Granted I could just do this myself with a spreadsheet but if it was w/ an addon a lot of the work could be automated and less chance of error.
I have a system that works pretty well.
People donate what they want and can afford to, with no expectation of return or recognition.
The end.
This seems to be the answer OP. What you are asking sounds very, very exploitable and preferential.
How so? I’m legitimately confused.
How is rewarding those that contribute more preferential?
I could see it being exploitable but preferential?
I was in a guild once that had a special rank for high contributors and people that helped the guild. Top contributions (not just to the bank mind you) were given pets and stuff. Its done to encourage people to help each other and get folks to help stockpile herbs and meat/fish for raid. There were literally only two people doing it and its a lot of work.
You don’t have guild banks in classic.
That didn’t stop raiding guilds from keeping a banker, heck we even kept track of who donated those bijous from Zul’Gurub and crating mats.
Our record keeper literally kept everything in notepad docs sitting in a folder on her desktop.
You are literally describing preferential treatment… lol.
No, that’s not preferential treatment, lol. They aren’t getting an advantages or preference over anyone else, unless you count a special rank and pets as advantages (okay, maybe for pet battlers). If it was for preference on gear rolls, then yes.
It could be considered a reward system though.
Excel sheet homie! Make a guild bank alt and have people mail them that wish to donate.
Regardless of how you want to explain it or call it, I want to encourage behavior that promotes guild/unit cohesion. If at a later date I want to give perks to people based on a point system I create based on donations given, fine, it’s not like I will keep this rule hidden.
Those who go above and beyond SHOULD be rewarded for their efforts and time spent helping others in the guild. I think to not do so doesn’t show proper appreciate of that person and behavior in general.
It’s not always about the pixels, it’s about the people.
