To be fair Fez has almost 400 of these posts and my guess is 393 of them say QoL and convenience. Lol.
Well basically most don’t care if gbanks are added or not and will play regardless. You’re right though the conversation has been between a few of us. From time to time a new poster pops in and we go through everything again because no one wants to read this whole thing. Heck we can’t expect people to use the search function to see if a thread already exists. Damned if they read a thread. lol
Perhaps you should prepare a new strategy where the first post yours details both sides of the argument as honestly as you can as presented by your self and the opposing view…
Attack this from a neutral point of view as an old school reporter would have done if they had not all retired and been replaced by bias shills.
That has been done more than once throughout these threads. iircc. I believe it was Red who had done it more than once within the threads. Now that you’ve mentioned it though im sure some alt will make another new thread and we’ll move to that one. Lol.
Not at all. Useless gold farming É Sure, Ièll skip it for couple of dollars.
Right now I’m farming Sky Golem from scratch for this mage. So :
I created a new toon
Got it to 110 (To be able to Oneshot everything in MoP)
Got my engineering to 65/75 (As of right now)
Got my alchy to 75/75 MoP to get these transmutes
Farming 4k ghost iron
Today I play to get 75 engeenirring. Need 100 motes of harmony (farming, not uying)
I’m OK to farm things I WANT. Gold ? it’s just a commodity for enchants / bags / etc. Don’t need a lot. But when I’m low (Like < 100k gold) I’ll buy a token. There is a difference between farming for pleasure an item you REALLY want or mindlessly killing mobs for gold
Blizzard has stated that the one hour delay in the mail system is being reimplemented specifically to actually require players to travel and meet if they want to transfer items “instantly”.
Guild banks would allow players to bypass that one hour delay and the need to travel to meet.
Johnny is in Gadgetzan working on the blacksmithing quests and needs more thorium. He asks if anyone has thorium to spare and BILLY says he has several stacks that Johnny can have.
Billy tells Johnny he is in Ironforge. Johnny doesn’t want to be bothered to travel to Ironforge but doesn’t want to wait the hour for mail. Johnny tells Billy to just drop it in the guild bank and he will withdraw it immediately.
OT: Why are Billy and Johnny still playing together? They’ve lied, cheated, and stole so much from each other why on earth are they even still on the same server? I would have gkicked both of these drama lamas…
That is assuming they not only add guild banks, but also redesign the guild bank system so that it functions in manner in which it never did previously.
They need to add / activate the objects to the world to interact with anyway.
Which isn’t nearly as hard as you like to make it sound. Because they already have the coding and data done, they just have to add a spawn point to it, which is not hard.
That still requires opening that Pandora’s box of changing that 1.12 data and code which they have stated they do not want to do.
You can keep pushing for your desired non vanilla QOL convenience changes. I will continue to be here asking for a truer classic experience that is as close to vanilla as orcishly possible.
You can keep saying I want a QoL convenience all you want, that’s not what I’m after.
I’m after security.
And you want keep a steady stream of gold flowing to fund your slush fund.
See I can make up why you don’t want guild banks in classic. Doesn’t mean it is true, or does it? I’m using your logic here.
Edit: also there’s a difference between adding data into the world and changing existing data.
When BC came out it didn’t make naxx not work any more, because the BC world data was unrelated to the naxx data. Now the changes they made to the naxx data when BC came out did effect it, but none of the content added in BC changed naxx. It just changed players priority because naxx gear was no longer “top of the line” so the desire to do that raid diminished. But the content of naxx didn’t actually change from BC content being added. Only changes directly targeting naxx had an effect. Guild banks don’t directly targeting any existing content, they don’t change an existing NPC or object unless blizzard chooses to have it do so as they can easily add a new unique object for it to effect.
I’m after a truer classic experience that is as close to vanilla as possible. Then again, unlike some, I am more concerned with authenticity than convenience.
Some people not only want guild banks and add-on functionality baked into classic baseline, but they also want hunters to be able to trap while in combat, even if for a brief time.
Hunters not being able to trap while in combat sure is a grave security risk, right. It would be a great security feature if they could just trap for a brief time after entering combat, right?
Adding data or code is still a change to the existing dasta or code, no matter how you try to deny that fact.
Are people STILL arguing about this?
Guildbanks are QoL and there’s no good enough reason to add them that counters the imbalance that comes with all that spare bank space.
Your need to take things out of context for your argument is amazing
Add-ons being made baseline was mainly focused on your own suggestion of an add-on being used to track guild bank alt logs. But I was starting how blizzard logs can’t be edited so if they chose guild bank alts it needs to be made by blizzard for that type of logging.
The hunter traps was basically an alternate idea of how to reimplement spell batching. Which was a vanilla feature. Letting abilities be used for .15 seconds after being out into combat was referencing the slight delay servers had in vanilla that would effectively let two rouge’s stun each other at the same time, or a sheep being countered with a fear, exc. But no one caught on to that so I just ran with it.
But hay. Keep taking things out of context and making false claims.
