I created an alt guild some time ago and I realized guild banks are a total mess and I’m suffering from my OCD every time I look into that horrible chest. I’m curious how did you all manage your guild bank? Do you just dump everything in like a trash can?
In the mean time I’m gonna go write to Marie Kondo and the fab four real quick brb.
I use one of my alts for my private Guild Bank, to accumulate the gold I like to use for purchasing things in the Blizz Store. Cleaning it out is kinda tough tho. I have a lot of useless junk in my bank too, and most of it is Non-Sellable. I also level up other alts a lot so I like to keep things like Food and Healing potions of various levels in there for my alts to use. And I was also GM of one of my other guilds, and I like to put Looted Gear that I am not able to use in this Guild Bank so if others might need it, then they can have it available… Good Luck Getting your Guild Bank straightened out… Have Fun!
You almost just gave me a panic attack.
I have tabs for specific types of items and must be balanced. IE if I have 80 of one herb, I must have 80 of EVERY herb. It’s ridiculous but messy freaks me out. I also try to keep everything at full stacks… I prefer it that way but sometimes it isn’t feasible so I try to deal.
Oh hell no. My bank is very organized.
Mine is pretty organized. I do wish I could find an addon though to help with that. (Like we have for our bags)
We have a little group guild for our four players.
It was in such disarray at a point that I just decided that each of us have our own tab instead.
That then led to just making each of our characters have their own guild instead since we dont really get to play together a ton anyway.
All sorts of useless crap was being dumped in the first one.
id clear it out and put the stuff on the AH mostly.
Hoarding all kinda stuff for my alts, but i try to keep it organized.

I wish it had an auto-sort feature like the bags/profession material tab does.
I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff. I always intended to hold onto the materials so alts could level old professions and things, but it’s become a nightmare. Probably better off liquidating most of it.
Stuff is placed in the proper tabs (mats, elementals, minerals, chanting mats, misc, gear and gear 2) and sorted with Bankstack.
Wait. Is that how that works? I heard about alt bank and private bank and I immediately decide to create a guild and dump sorry let me rephrase that, and use it for all my characters including my main because it feels good to be able to access the AH anywhere I go (yes I couldn’t afford the long boi shame’s on me).
One thing I’m having trouble with is I’m not entirely sure which mat are from which expansion, BfA’s mats are the only ones I’m familiar with. So I have a tab for herbs and inks, but I kinda dumped just right clicked those items from my bag into the bank. But nonetheless it’s tab specific, kinda.
I couldn’t find any of those except one called TradeSkillMaster_GuildSorter, which last updated was on 2014, so it doesn’t work at all. Petitioning for a guild sorter addon. Or an official function. Please blizz we all need it more than new AH.
Sierra we might have found our answer. Gonna go check that out real quick.

It can get out of hand for a few months into an expansion. Like the page for mats and stuff like that. It’s kinda funny you mention it, we cleaned up two banks nice and orderly just a few weeks ago.

I have several alts with guild banks full of junk. This used to come in handy when old mats suddenly had new uses, like the weapon enchant mogs. These days I should just sell or dump the stuff I suppose. But it doesn’t seem worth the time investment when the stuff doesn’t sell for much.
I think mats from vanilla zones are still selling good. I was leveling my vanilla engineering a few days ago and the coarse stone thing is selling for almost 2g each, almost the same price as BfA’s monelite ores. I do have a gathering alt (this one) but it’s also my main (kinda, at this point I have three mains because I stopped progressing and I’m just waiting for Shadowlands) and I’m too lazy to go back to old zones with all the assaults and rares camping taking all my time.
I don’t think that Bankstack actually works, it’s just sorting by rarity only, my Wild Flour was all over the place…
that is odd that they didnt add the organizer button to it.
If it could just sort each tab, that would be great.
I have a addon that is called BankStack. It will sort the guild bank tabs for you, along with other things. Sometime you have to do it a couple times, esp if the tab is completely full.
I’ll have to check that out…
