Its been a couple months now and my guild bank is still 100% empty from the bug that affected thousands prior to the release of the TWW. Not a single thing has been restored and it was a complete, 100% wipe out of my entire personal guild bank of 7 tabs with no communication from Blizzard on when these items will be restored. I’ve tried reaching out to in game support with no improvement and no clarification on when this will be rectified. It seems like Blizz is just trying to sweep this under the rug by ignoring it as long as possible and not offering any form of fix or restitution to those affected. I saw the previous forum post with the wishy-washy answer of them only being able to do a partial restore of the data lost, but that was it, still no talk on how this is going to be made right for those like me who lost everything and are just getting crickets while trying to find answers. The way this whole issue has been handled is unacceptable. When are the rest of us going to get our stuff restored or receive some form of restitution? This was years worth of crafting/rare mats across all of my characters just…gone. When can we expect any clarity on this issue Blizz?
My guild was also wiped out, it has been at least 2 months for me. Years worth of stuff also just gone. Even if they gave gold as a restitution that would at least be something.
My bank is still empty as well, with no mail restoration whatsoever. In my last ticket I asked to get a response, a communication about the finality of this whole fiasco… and the return was something akin to “stop making tickets, you’re close to suspension”.
wow! I haven’t had that nasty of a response but definitely the Ye Olde copy/paste “we can’t help you, it up to the developers, no you cant contact them” response. So much for the adage “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” now the squeaky wheel gets threatened with being banned
and we’re the victims in all of this. The way they have handled this (or not) is so disheartening as a long time player.
Sadly there is no clarity, just like there are no restorations. There’s also no explanation as to how this level of catastrophic data loss happened, why they can’t use backup player data, or if backup player data is even done anymore. And compensation or a sincere apology from the development team is straight out the window.
Putting in serious work to fix this issue would require tremendous communication, manpower, and a spotlight on an embarrassing failure of data management. Locking all the threads and tossing everyone into the general forum post no-one knows about and sweeping the issue under the rug takes almost no effort.
Did they not even say sorry? I know they basically admitted that they’re not going to do anything more and are basically hoping we just forget about this, but not even a sorry?
I can even see a log of things I deposited. Poof. Gone. Pets, mats, equipment – all gone. If I can see a log, they can see a log. That’s what makes me feel ill inside. They are just… , please pardon if this seems like hyperbole, but… abusing us. Abuse is knowingly ignoring the negative effects of choices. Definitely a first-world problem, but a it’s my real world in which I spend real money on a game for more than a decade, and they just poof my stuff and flip me off while I read my logs of loss. back of hand to forehead dramatically
I haven’t seen an official apology from Blizzard. A mod or the equivalent did acknowledge it happening in the original forum post way back when and said that they basically didn’t have the old log to restore anything and they would do a partial restore off of what they had (which was next to nothing) but that was it. The info given to the public was very limited and as far as i know no official apology or acknowledgement was issued from Blizzard directly
I also haven’t seen any new updates on the matter. Supposedly with the partial restore items were mailed to whichever character was the guild master but by all accounts I’ve read next to nothing was actually restored and most people received garbage items in their mail, like literal grey garbage items sent back and that was it.
I will say i may have missed any recent statements if there were any, but Blizzard has been so non-transparent on the issue that its hard to find any current information about all this.
