Come on Blizzard “Make Azeroth Great Again”
The Direct is starting, and I have SO many conflicted feelings right now. Just like every day I log in (my sub is paid till March). I’m on sick leave from work right now and despite how they wronged us, it’s become my daily escape. And I hate this for us.
Edit : adding this quote, “When something is broken, we fix it.” Sure it’s related to Reforged, but shouldn’t it apply to every game?
The thread has been moved. We’re back in bug reports now. It’s still pinned though.
Please Help,
On my character, Toraa, I am missing 16 stacks of Reflecting Prisms from my Guild bank, 30 companion pets from my Guild Bank and 40 Djaradin’s Trophy Mask (2 stacks of 20 from my Guild Bank. I do have 2 stacks of masks in my bag but those aren’t the ones I am talking about).
My account has not been hacked, there is nothing in the item restoration available and also nothing in the Guild Banks logs saying that they were removed, they have just disappeared. The last time I was on other than recently here was about 5 months ago, before the 20 year anniversary.
Can you please help me? Thank you very much for your time.
Oh yeah, just saw that.
Wonder if it’s a good thing…? They’re spamming us with “file a bug report”, “post a thread in Bug Report”, but now we’re out of sight from the masses.
Maybe, but honestly I feel more people look at bug reports than the general discussion tab. Then again maybe you’re right and they just want us out of the way while people rave about player housing and other new stuff.
Still holding out hope they’ll just dig out some kind of out of date player data backup and offer to restore to that if we choose. I’d rather lose 1-2 years of guild bank collection than 20 years.
So you recently logged in with the anniversary patch?
Do you know if you or anyone else in your guild bank’s affected guild has logged in during or after the war within pre-patch?
Having a time span will help figure out if this came from the original bug prior to sept 20th or if the bug is resurfacing and affecting more players with this current patch.
That would be the bug this thread discussed, unfortunately the only recovered items were mailed out to the GMs and further could not be restored.
When was the last time you checked your guild bank? IE … when was it you last saw those items. This thread is for a bug that happened at the start of the expansion (end of August/start of September this year) where guild vault contents got wiped out by a bug. If you think that might be what has happened to you, ie, the last time you remember seeing the contents of your guild bank was prior to that time, then you’re in the right place.
I SUSPECT that the reason this thread has been moved BACK to the bug reports forum, and the heading amended to give the date, is (a) because people have returned and only just discovered missing items that had disappeared with that bug and (b) there have been one or two posts from people stating items have gone missing SINCE that bug (meaning a second bug or a reoccurance of this one).
So if you know you’ve seen the full contents of your guild bank AFTER everyone else reported that bug in Aug/Sept and the bug was apparently fixed by Blizzard - your issue may be a new bug that needs reporting separately.
Updated my timeline post to reflect the changed thread title and re-location to Bug Report from General Discussion.
As always, please do not feed the trolls.
They may not have liked it much, that on their 30th anniversary a fail of the company was so visible to everyone.
So they moved it to a smaller forum part, that hardly anyone is checking out.
I’ve been away for a few days and I panicked when I didn’t see this thread in General Discussion. Ok, back in the Bug forums, let’s see how this goes I guess?
Does that mean they consider it a bug that needs work?
Unlikely, since they stated almost two months ago the bug was resolved.
I…don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I know QA only works in bug reports though.
Doesn’t that mean moving the announcement back to the bug forums is saying that it’s not resolved, or that it’s reopened?
(more likely it’s the bury portion of “contain and conceal”)
Could be either…however, if someone is having an issue, they will probably go to bug reports which means they would be MORE likely to see it. So I think it’s counterproductive to burying it.
If they don’t fix logs, they can “bank heist” at any moment and cover their tracks. It sure feels that way.
I have seen no indication from Blizz (in posts or in game) that there are any QA employees left since the last layoff. Developers, sure, but not QA/Test.
I mean I know I saw one over in the classic bug report forums. Could just be roleplay though, since quality assurance and helpful GMs existed back then.
