Hello everyone!
I’ve seen many people in the forums complaining about the encounter with Zekvir, specifically shadow priests, claiming that it is impossible for this class. Frankly, I agreed until today. I’m here to give some tips so that those who haven’t succeeded can do it.
I did it with an ilvl of 608 without a tier set and the following talent combination:
CIQAJSbRac/22NxZbHdYKOQzcAjxMDAAAAAAAAAAAAwws4BGzMz2YMzMzYmZWGMbMzMzY2YgxAziZbqZGsADgZ2sM1sYAIjxCA
I recommend setting Brann as Damage. Then use the Porcelain Arrowhead Idol Combat Curio and either the Amorphous Relic (P.D: My Brann is level 28).
BOSS HABILITIES:
- Claw Smash - A large frontal cone which deals heavy physical damage targeted at the closest unit to the boss. This can be sidestepped.
- Angler’s Web - A line attack locked onto a person, which after a short cast will fire out a hook dealing heavy Nature damage and pulling the person in. This can be sidestepped.
- Call Web Terror - Zek’vir summons an attackable cocoon near the edge of the room, which will start a 15 second cast. At the end of its cast it will summon a Web Terror which has double the max-HP of the Cocoon. The Web Terror will melee you and cast Web Blast, which hits all friendly units (Brann included) for heavy damage and stuns them for 5 seconds.
- Enfeebling Spittle - Is an interruptible cast which applies a strong damage overtime and slows all friendly units.
- Horrendous Roar - Is a circle which will deal heavy shadow damage around the boss and fear you for 5 seconds, if you are caught by it.
Fight:
As shadow priests, we have the worst interrupt in the game due to its excessive cooldown. So it’s a very valuable tool that, if used poorly, will lead to our horrible death.
As a solution to this problem, we will NEVER use our interrupt against Zekvir. Instead, we will use the ability ‘Fade’ with the talent ‘Phantasm’ to remove Enfeebling Spittle in case Brann doesn’t interrupt it.
In case we don’t have it available due to using it incorrectly, we will still have ‘Mass Dispel’ as an emergency button. But I repeat, we will NEVER use our interrupt on Zekvir.
We will save our burst for the first add to eliminate it quickly, always avoiding Zekvir’s frontal attacks, aided by the talent ‘Body and Soul’ for a small sprint. For the subsequent adds, we should have enough damage as long as we’re not bombarded by Zekvir. So, in case the spider manages to hatch, we will have our interrupt specifically saved for that.
If, due to bad positioning, you see that you won’t be able to avoid one of the frontals, we will use our ‘Dispersion’ To prevent this from happening, I recommend staying relatively close to the boss when you don’t have aggro, taking advantage of the smaller frontal (always avoiding the boss’s fear).
We will use our other defensives at our own discretion when we see that we might take lethal damage or when we want to top off our health.
Essentially, this is the entire fight. I’m aware that I’m not great at making guides and there may be better explanations out there. But I sincerely hope this post helps someone else.
I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors, as English is not my first language.
Good luck to everyone in achieving this feat, and I’ll keep trying for difficulty ‘??’. See you in Azeroth.
