Hi, everyone! If you want to learn how to roleplay, just need a refresher, or you are an advanced roleplayer looking for ideas, my guide has you covered! It offers a broad variety of topics concerning roleplay mechanics and etiquette. Tough or little-talked-about situations are tackled and solutions are offered. I started writing it in 2016 and published it in 2018, but I thought now would be a good time to post it here in preparation for Dragonflight. I sincerely hope that you get something out of it!

Thank you very much, Jacquell. I’m positive this will be beneficial and provide important knowledge for players.
I like the part about not “people watching” as it is put.
Maybe it’s my own personal bias. But, a line in the OOC section about not conflating OOC with in-character may be useful. I tend to avoid romantic-leaning RPs nowdays because of it. Also worth remember that just because someone is playing the role of a snarky elf or a grumpy Goblin does not mean that person actually exhibits those traits. You do touch on this in the OOC Issues section. I don’t know if the guide needs more information on this and it’s likely just my own personal experience with it rearing its head.
I do like the last part in your Making Connections section. That was one of the reasons I had to stop RPing in Guild Wars 2 so long ago and even stopped playing the game for a significant amount of time.
I particularly like the note in the Perspective section. And, the part about “god-modding” in an attempt to make the RP go in your pre-determined way.
The part about RPing combat seems especially helpful. There are several different ways people go about it and I’m horrible at all of them.
It is all very well organized and I like that you can click on the highlighted words for more details.
Thank you. I will bookmark it and share it should the situation present itself. I have a friend that is looking to try WoW for the first time and this would be handy for her.
