I honestly don’t really feel like rets damage is the issue, it’s the fact you’re basically facing 2 sets of healer cds.

I mean their damage is also an issue. I told a ret to hit the healer in hoj, gave him lust, and he soloed the pres while I was in cc.

I could be wrong but that isn’t healthy. At least not with the amount of utility they have.

sigh I haven’t bothered with Solo shuffle this season. Guess I’m rolling Templar for it.

Yeah maybe, but when i think of unhealthy damage i think of 1 or 2 situations.

  1. You die through defensives even if you properly react. IE arcane mage/boomy (I haven’t played today so I dunno if this persists)
  2. You find yourself exhausting defensives outside of CDs, and unable to continue a proper trade as a result. IE demon hunter.

If I line up my drs with their wake and trade well I don’t really think their damage is that oppressive unless you consider that they also have insane resources to save their team.

I do think they should have the ability to save their team as that’s more closely tied to class fantasy than damage.

So maybe at the end of the day they do just nerf their damage down to 80% of other leading melee specs to compensate for the strength of their hybrid potential.

I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with a nerf but I feel like that would kill it.

It would just put it in the same place demo is right now. A damp spec that is only good because it persists. Demo’s damage is pretty awful atm, but it also is nearly immortal so it creates conditions it can win under. If ret is going to keep more utility than any other 2 melee specs combined it cannot continue to do more or even equal damage to those specs.

Yeah the pres didn’t trinket or use anything so he def deserved to lose. But I don’t think he was expecting to solo die to one dps. IMO they should nerf their utility and leave most of their damage alone.

Maam that isn’t how percentages work. Its actually 33% of the total DPS above 2400, looking at just melee.

  1. 140 Rets
  2. 53 Unholy dks
  3. Survival Hunter

DPS as a whole (including ranged):

  1. 140 Ret
  2. 73 BM
  3. 53 Unholy
