In PvE Elemental was already falling behind. We were clinging to Mental Dexterity for our damage to be somewhat competitive. Now, that rune has been deactivated for us. The burn rune buff is still a net nerf with Mental Dex loss.
Guess I’ll just respec enhance! At least that spec is doing great. Why suffer with what they’re doing to Ele when a better spec is on the same class?
I’ll still PvP with Elemental tho. Dual Spec being a thing is nice for that.
It is disappointing. I thought “Spellhance” or whatever we’re calling it was fun.
Mainly though, it’s not a like-for-like swap. Burn is now good for group PvE content but it’s still dreadful for solo questing/levelling, since all it does is accidentally aggro extra mobs.
As you said, will probably just go back to Enhance.
I’m stubborn and will continue using elehance until it’s no longer fun, currently working on getting the Burn rune. Woe is me for hybrid playing a hybrid.
The devs are constantly gutting any functional shaman specs. Tank sham is gutted and now ele is gutted.
Enhance dps is fine for pve. Resto is fine. Ele is fine for pvp.
I don’t understand why the Devs are so adverse to giving elemental shaman any good runes apart from overload and lava burst. Those have been carrying out dps the entire season and they seem to flat out refuse to give us anything else. Power surge proc rate is insanely low. Rolling thunder barely worth pressing and stacks so slowly that normally isn’t worth using at all, no boot runes for ele. Then they decide to nerf MD for us, and buff burn in its place, but not enough for it to be better than MD.
neither are gutted, you just got so used to be the untouchable gods that you forgot your characters are not in fact gods.
Ele sham was the worst dps in pve in P1. We were top 5 in P2 and now we are the 2nd worst dps spec in p3 (going to be last when spriest gets their DMG buff).
no, for what you are concerned we’re even better in PvP now. The fact you don’t get this and still poop in the chat with these comments is astonishing, and a testament to the kind of players that brought these nerfs together with their constant whining.
What’s more ridiculous is we’re not asking for PvP buffs, which is what we got essentially, but PvE ones. Instead, we got the opposite.

Yeah Blizzard can’t be bothered to actually make multiple specs for a class viable. Apparently Enh and Ele both being viable for the last half of Phase 2 was just a fluke lmao.
Now if they could just make Ret, the solitary paladin dps spec, viable without us having to use a meme weapon like ACP, that’d be nice.
