anyone else thinks it bs they added unlimited guards to lowbie towns to prevent ganking? pretty lame. on other servers they had no guards and you had to get another player out there to save the town. granted im one of those players that will grieve lowbies hrs on end so this was a big deal to me at least at first. now ive come to terms with it and just gank as many as i can then runaway come back and do the same thing. kinda bs but is what it is i suppose. i also dont care about DK’s either so i will kill quest givers but theyre respawn timers are too quick imo.
As someone on a PvE server, I didn’t even know this happened. However, I would view it as a good thing if I was on a PvP server. Isn’t Pvp suppose to be player vs player? Whereby you fight people close to your level for challenge + bragging rights? What does ganking low level quest givers achieve? I thought you didn’t even gain honor for that?
It’s one thing to go pillage all of Stormwind while taking down the leader. there’s some challenge involved in that because you have to take down ALL the players in Stormwind to do it. There’s no challenge or reason to do it to low towns besides being a douche.
because its hilarious. i mean im one of those gankers that will camp you til you log. its part of the game imo. dont like it tough luck
Manifestly it is not part of the game, or you would not have anything to complain about here. If you don’t like that, tough luck.
And when you say “other servers,” you mean private servers, right?
i found the sociopath!
yes and yea true. it is tough luck but i just assess it best i can. ganked rr for like 2-3 hrs last night and got plenty of kills in and outside of town
There are lots of places to gank lowbies that aren’t in the towns. Most pvpers avoid towns as they don’t want dishonorable kills. I get that you don’t care about DKs but most do. There are plenty of outposts you can wipe clean with no guards so just go there.
I find ganking very low levels boring, but if thats what you’re into there are plenty of options.
true that believe me i go everywhere i can find 1. duskwood, rr, stv, shimmering flats and a few others. my main is horde so thats why i go those places. good ganking imo
Right. There are a ton of these places. I would gank anything on my Vanilla server and made a name for myself as a ganker on that server to this day. It was fun. I’ve moved on to same level ganking or like ganking in Ironforge but lowbie ganking has its place on pvp servers so no judgement here.
lmfao my man. yea on a tbc server i played on i would take over the town with no competition until a 70 or 2 came then id have to beat a**. but yea i multiboxed with an alli toon and hid in the inn in lakeshire to see where lowbies were and see what they were saying about me xD. the things they said…
ganking lowbies is one of the most reliable ways to draw out higher level players, either by them logging to main or someone coming off flight to help out
exactly. after about 30 min a 60 will def show up. and its even better if you kill them too and corpse camp them and the lowbies xD. absolutely heart warming
no where in the phrase Player Versus Player does it mention level or challenge, A level 60 PLAYER one shooting a level 1 PLAYER is still PvP
Did you get BINGO yet?
I’ve killed every ganker who made me get my main. That or they run away.
no it isnt.
It may not be “honorable pvp” but it is still PvP
yea i agree if im getting ganked i just pull out my main and whoop a**. but not everyone has that option which makes it absolutely hilarious. no chance and no hope. and trust me i never let lowbies get away from me
I haven’t done this yet, i use to all the time in classic.
But I remember in tbc when blizzard buffed guards on pvp realms because of the sun well island had too much pvp in guard zones.
But I wouldn’t know anything about the current update to guards if it had occured.
By the way what class do you camp towns as?
i usually camp the town on my mage. but ill gank stv on my paladin as well. mainly the mage for the aoe so i can kill a lot of lowbies at 1 time
