This is hands down the most un-enjoyable thing I’ve done in WoW in 17 years of playing. I’m not a complete garbage player either I managed to beat the Warlock Green Fire Challenge pre nerf but it was fun & fair when I messed up I knew I messed up.
I wish the fight was hard for the right reason. Right now the complete lack of damage while trying to micromanage everything at once is obnoxious. IMO there is no reason you should have to Cheese a fight with Gem gear + loads of gold in flasks/pots & even then you’re not guaranteed to get thru Phase 2 before you get 1 shot by the 2nd stack of annihilation from 90% HP thru CDs. on top of trying to dodge Inferno knock back + beam + the adds that will one shot you + grab orbs while dodging all this stuff.
Maybe I am complete trash who knows can’t get em past 18% & I don’t feel like it because lack of skill feels like Bullcrap mechanics + scaling all thrown in randomly and Blizzard said “Good luck”.
Edit - finally beat it. It took so long that I’m not even excited to have the skin now.

I only have about 7 attempts to it, but it seems like a test of how much moonfire you can spam while running around not tanking anything.
pretty stupid.
(I’m exaggerating. a bit. kind of.)
for me, it was a raid week (sylv to 10% woooot), and I was moving back home, and a rehearsal, then concert this weekend… so just not a lot of time to focus on it. maybe I’ll have more time next week.

definitely phase 1 in a nutshell lol
yea and phase 2 is “avoid all the mechanics you can’t see because there are so many infernals up”

Fun fact, bears cheesed the original MT.
At first it was a bug and they could stun the guy on phase one while stealthed and he wouldn’t have his pool around him anymore and after that was fixed they used (a legendary and boomkin talent I think?) to have enough melee range to DPS him from outside of the pool.
But yeah, as someone with the Veng artifact skin, I swore I would never touch it again because it is just the single most unfun thing I’ve ever done and I hated every second of it.
The first phase is fairly easy… just wait til you get to the “hard” DPS check of phase 2
Just not enough damage to close out phase 2, I keep wiping around 12-15k health left (just completely out of CDs/running on empty). Unfortunately I don’t have (literally) any TW “twink” multi-socket items or any cheesy BiS trinkets from previous expansions (either vendored or deleted along the way), so not much more I can do to “squeeze” additional DPS out of my Bear rotationally…
Looked fine from when I watched streamers doing it on PTR, a lot of them were just using their regular gear. “Suddenly” though, with the stealth buffs at the last minute, really seems like you now need some cheesy-ness to meet the DPS check.

You can survive 5 annihilates. Dying to 2nd annihilate??? Wut?
Just phase into p2 with only 2 little infernal. Zoom the camera way out. There’s a script command you can run to increases max zoom beyond what is normally allowed with just the mouse wheel.

Tron Bear > Roid Bear who skips leg day. That is all.

Finally beat it after 3 days. Without a doubt the most miserable experience in gaming I’ve ever had. What’s crazy is my Fav games of all time are Demon souls, Dark should 1-3 & Sekiro which are all about Boss fight challenges.
This encounter is beyond overtuned. Congrats to the very few people who can do it without old gear & stuff but that doesn’t make it not overly obnoxious. Sorry to everyone who can’t get the skin hopefully blizzard nerfs it to a manageable state without cheese.
