Allere, are you use the macros to target boss and eyes? That’s a key for us old guys. You just spam that moonfire macro. It makes things easier for us old guys.
Definitely the openning is the key, watch the replays… go back corner so you can push him to mid… pre pot b4 going in, hotw, ss, moon sun, keep casting until you have to interupt and then melee boss… that should get him down alot and then from then on focus on staying alive and just get some dps when your safe
but those macros for moonfire and interrupts are key for old guys
what is killing you? Are you getting knocked off? Are you dying to annihilate; if so, which one? Is it raw damage that’s killing you in between annihilates?
Ok, i didnt get any of the legion trinkets BUT i did run mythic HC in WoD and got the trinket off the bird boss. Highly recommend, this things slaps. It’s doing like 11% of my total damage.
Still getting Kruul down to like 20-30k but the adds are the biggest issue right now. Had a few that didnt come over in time, and either full channeled on me or the NPC. Third annihilate also slapped me
Also, had a few bad knockbacks with the beams into infernals that stopped me from getting to the orbs in time
Okay, easy fixes here! First of all, DO NOT EVER PRESS SURVIVAL INSTINCTS UNTIL ANNIHILATE 3/4.
I cannot stress this enough, you can survive annihilate 1 and 2 with JUST ironfurs (just make sure you’re topped and right by an orb to heal after). You NEED to have survival instincts up for annihilate 3 and 4 or you will die.
if you’re not in range of the adds and they’re killing the NPCs then your positioning is likely wrong. Make sure you’re strafing backwards in a decently wide circle around velen and the orbs. That puts you in position to get all the adds with thrash, AND has you close enough to pick up orbs if needed.
That happens and is rough Best thing you can do is jump over the beams so that doesn’t happen. Remember you also have stampeding roar and wild charge!
I throw down a world marker for Velen’s spot, I’ve lost him in the confusion of adds and beams and Kruul before. Definitely helped me keep my position closer to him for when Horrors popped
Okay, so I did do this after the hotfix and I was wondering what was up with the adds before I knew there was a change but figured it’s me getting more frazzled each run. I think this is worse now with the horrors.
After a couple 0% wipes, both pre and post nerfs, i finally get my monster energy bear the cheat death trink from chronomatic anomaly got me just far enough at the end.
Honestly some of the most fun ive had in wow in a long time
How many phases of the horrors should I have before getting Variss down? I feel like I’m just not able to do enough DPS on him to phase him out. Always spamming moonfire on him if I’ve got nothing else going on.
I’m using Boomkin to start with with the rotation, staying on that until the horrors come out, then it’s bear form from there on except for occasional regrowths.
I’ve gotten to like 4-5 waves of the horrors before I’ll end up dying to too many infernals, eyes, and horrors up at the same time.
Not sure how many Horrors, but hopefully before the 3rd Infernal comes up.
I kept getting oomphed by the eyes in phase 2 when I first tried, so I’ve learned to throw a MF or two on the eyes soon as they pop up so I don’t have to worry about them and can focus on pew pew on Variss.
Yeah, I’ve got macro’s that focus eyes for moonfire. I’m not anywhere near doing it before the 3rd infernal. If i ever get far enough I’ve got like 4 infernals up. Which means I’m just doing the random mechanics, getting lucky, and not able to get ANY damage on the boss other than moonfires…
As has been mentioned in previous posts, group up the Horrors, and take them on top of Variss, that way you’re swiping and thrashing on him as well. You actually do more damage in Bear (im my experience) outside of HotW than in Boomchicken - but that also means you’re dealing with stacks from the aura when you don’t need to be. I’ve screwed up a time or two by not paying attention to my stacks and the Nether Horrors get me soon as they end up on top of me.
