Guarantee way to win your rolls for loot

I’m really frustrated with this game. This week I got into a Heroic Tindral pug group with my husband, halfway through phase 1 (1st platform) I was removed from the group as were others that my husband noticed being kicked (he was not) , I still continued to be targeted by boss mechanics and even made it all the way to the last platform (phase 3) and we killed the boss. Which turned out I couldn’t loot and no items even popped up for me to roll Need or Greed on. I thought maybe I wasn’t locked out and the kill didn’t count for me, WRONG! I’m not only locked out but I missed my chance at my BiS Belor’relos, The Suncaller Trinket. Contacted blizzard to help right this wrong somehow to at least reset my lockout for that boss so I can try again this week and they said:

I’ve read your ticket, and ouch! I’m sorry to hear that your character was removed from a group for no reason. I’ve looked into this and I’ve confirmed that once a boss has been pulled, your character is intended to be saved to that boss, if it’s killed, even if removed from the group. As such, customer support cannot remove a raid lockout or restore any items that weren’t looted.

Please also know that raid leaders can remove anyone from the raid at any time without a reason. This is not a violation of our policies. You can find more information here: https :// support. blizzard. com/article/52363

So you want to get your loot and not have competition? Make a raid group and kick all your competition so get the items and they don’t even have a chance at rolling. And no consequences for people that do this since according to Blizzard its not against any policy. Good luck out there friends, be careful if you’re pugging because Blizzard isn’t going to stop people from doing this.

*EDIT: I do not have rc or any add ons that would have passed. My husband confirmed I didn’t roll, greed or pass after the items were given out to the winners who won the rolls. Also if I knew I wasn’t going to get loot I would have done my best to wipe but I didn’t think that would be the case. My Wyrm crest weren’t even mailed to me, items that are considered personal loot. And I didn’t accidentally save myself to the boss and forgot about it, my warcraft logs and DBM have it recorded for 2 kills. One on Nov 28th and the second (the one I was robbed loot from) Dec 7th.

According to the big B, I guess your just expected to strap on the gag-ball and accept the abuse. :man_shrugging:

This is one of those stinky situations that Blizzard will not change because they see more negatives than positives in doing so. Which doesn’t make it any more acceptable for someone like you who has been robbed of a chance to get an item by the actions of a stranger intent on rorting the system.

In the old days when people were after an item, they would form groups and announce that they wanted an item and you would be paid for participating but not rolling on the item. Now it seems its just easy to take a note of anyone else who might want to roll on that and kick them before they can. I mean, they can always keep advertising in Premade for someone to replace you…

I dunno what the solution is, or even if there is one. We can’t even announce who these creeps are because we aren’t allowed to do that. All you can do is privately let all your friends ingame know the name of the character and ensure they know not to do any runs with them. Of course, that won’t stop them doing it on alts and that is always the issue.

Good luck in the future, hope you get your item in a decent run.

I suggest joining a guild and raiding with them, as was intended from the beginning. If you insist on playing with random strangers even though it’s a bad idea… I dunno what to tell you.

To play devils advocate a bit, if you had tagged the boss, you contributed to the scaling and that group clearly still succeeded despite some weird mass kicking…if I was your hubby, I would’ve tried to sabotage the run by yoinking healers away and/or into bad or whatever was available at their disposal. Dunno why you stuck around and tried to help them finish still. Clearly it was a strong group if they managed to still down it while mass kicking folks at the very start.

This isn’t new behavior though. Pug groups have been shafting over randos for nearly 2 decades now.

Not condoning the behavior but to play devils advocate for a second; It’s probably set up this way to prevent people from hitting the boss and then dropping group and still getting loot.

The system needs to auto-roll for people who were kicked. That’s the only way to rightfully fix this problem.

It didn’t work this way in the past and it doesn’t work this way in other premades such as M+.

If you don’t like how pugging works and the risks that come with it don’t pug or start your own group so that you’re lead.

I feel like you were already saved to that boss/difficulty if this happened.

I don’t think it works this way.
If you’re kicked mid fight the GY countdown doesn’t start until after the boss is dead and if you’re not saved then the loot should be popping up to roll.

This happened to me recently and I still was able to loot/roll on items after they downed it.

EDIT: I was also dead while kicked, but not sure that triggered anything different that allowed me to roll/rez/loot crests.

I do have a guild but my guild isn’t there yet so pug the kills that I , as player am ready for so I can have as many chances early on to help my guild progress.

This sounds really scummy, and will say if that ever happened to me I’d actively try to sabatoge the pull in any way possible.

Only did it because I didn’t think I wouldn’t be eligible for loot if I was not kicked out of the instance . It counted as kill and it didn’t kick me out of it so that’s why I didn’t assume I wouldn’t get loot. My husband also had the same thought, that id al least get loot if I was part of the group when the pull started, was still getting targeted with mechanics and it didn’t give me a timer that said I was going to get kicked out for not being part of the instance.

It has worked that way in the past. One of my more phallus-like moments was running a SOO pug with some lower caliber guildies and it was clearly listed as a chill/fun run. Some shaman healer joined after I think Sha (maybe Nazgrim). The moment he joined, he started berating one of the healers clearly lesser geared and newer and demanding, publically, I kick her. I tell him to shut up

He just wont let up and it was just time to be done. Thok was it and I said as such and he said I better do the right thing and loot him the trinket as payment for “saving the heals of this trash raid”. Thok was a crapfest for the first 2 or 3 tries and I said last try. People got their stuff together but towards then end it was all coming apart and only a handful of left alive, shaman included of course (along with some of the stronger DPS and myself)…but we stabilized and the win was assured.

He said something else and I had it with his mouth at this point so at 3ish percent or so, I booted his donkey from MY raid and as lady luck would have it, that trinket DID drop and it went to the healer he had it in for.

Oh the raging whispers I got. Considered reporting it despite my stance on reporting people just to hopefully get him a nice vacation along with the salt. I didn’t though. Still kinda regret that. Dude was a good healer, but his attitude sucked. I feel no remorse letting him carry the rest of that raid and discarding him at the end. Could’ve left on his own or kept his mouth shut and it would’ve been different.

Yea I didn’t think it’d work that way either. But if I could post a picture here I would. My DBM records how many times I’ve killed that boss and the first time was last week when I got AOTC. And this would’ve been my second time downing that boss and I have the screenshot of DBM saying how my minutes it took and showing 2 victories. Not only there but also Warcraftlogs shows only 2 reports for the boss. It would’ve have shown 3 if I somehow pugged it twice this week, which I didn’t.

Was this the run you were booted from?

The the raid lead can just call a wipe so they won’t get loot. Whereas the people, like me getting shafted have no options.

I don’t remember if true of personal loot but under that system wouldn’t you still have a chance of loot mailed to you if you won?

Regardless if that is true or not, I do think situations like this were one of the benefits of PL specifically in non guild groups.

Makes me seethe with rage just reading.

Hope you get it in your box this Tues, though.
