Do your own testing and you will come to the same findings
Same. I never dip below 60. This guy is behind on the times. Ellwindræ is making statements with no real testing done on his own. On a Ryzen my self. A 5900x and a 3070 Ti. Never drop below 60 FPS just like you Aribeth and you have less game cache than me. The 64mb game cache on the 5900x is pretty big imo
Making statement like this as if its fact having done no testing on your own is pure foolishness. You have two people here who have tested the same way and came to the same conclusion. Please dont make statements like this unless you have personally tested and confirmed this to come to your findings. I have said it before and I will say it again AMD Zen3 changed the CPU market for good. Things that use to be true are not anymore. This is only going to change more with Alder Lake and Zen 4
Hell just look at this. Zen4 5900x with 192MB game cache. Thats NUTS!
No need others have made videos. I will list them below. I am just pointing out you are wrong. Period. On a Ryzen 5900x CPU with a 3070 Ti graphics card with decent ram 3800mhz CL16 for me. I DO NOT drop below 60. Not at 1440p. at 4k? Hell yes but not 1440p and def not 1080p
Your test rig must have something wrong then. If you dropped below 60fps in your testing you are either not on a 5000 series ryzen or a 3000 series graphics card or have very low ram speed. You should not be dropping below 60 at 1440p or below. Period. I did RARELY back on my RTX 2080 but not once on my 3070ti. Got my 3070ti the same time AMD did their update so not sure if its the graphics card or AMDs update that sped up my frame rates. Maybe both
As for the video someone else already made it. He stays above 70fps and hes not even on a 3000 series GPU or a 5800x or Better. hes on a freaking budget build
Here he stays above 100fps except for a split second.
PVE Raids. He stays above 70fps with much worse equipment that I am on.
So… Yeah WTF did you test this on? Was it a 5900x ? Was it a 3000 series GPU? What was the Ram speed? Was it manually tuned? Please share the details of your test rig. Your rig may be the problem
Im curious along with Shifty and Ariebeth what exactly in detail component wise your machine you did your testing on is composed of. I cannot speak for either of them however I myself am on a RTX 3090 with a Ryzen 5950x. I never, I mean not once will dip below 60fps at 1440p.
Not to take sides here but the only person out of all 3 of you who has given 0 info on the computer system the used to test the game is you. Both Shifty and Aribeth have stated what CPU and GPU they are on. Since both of them have given this info and you have not? Simple logic states who is the one fibbing here. I dont think its either of them.
Jesus! Look at those scores! You wound up with one badass 5900x! That single core and multi are score is nuts. Good work. You were not the one I wanted computer build information from however. It was Ellwindræ. Out of the three of you he was the only one making claims without providing any of his computer build information that he tested his said results on.
My 5950x scores 11532 and its a 16core CPU! Very Impressive worth with PBO boost. I have yet to mess with PBO or PBO2 I just leave it stock
Yeah it took a lot of tinkering to get it where I wanted. I have a lot of experience with overclocking because I build custom gaming rigs for a living and every one of them I send out whether it’s Intel or AMD is overclocked
I have simply stated that any computer be that Ryzen or Intel based will drop FPS in highly populated areas and the prime example I made was the PVP TM/SS battle ground brawl.
It’s already been tested multiple times over and it has already been confirmed.
It sorta feels like some of the other posts here are trying to turn this into a Ryzen vs Intel battle which clearly that’s not what it should be.
I am still waiting to see a video of Shifty going into this battleground and showing me his PC maintaining 60 fps or higher if that’s the case.
We are still waiting to here what your test rig is composed of. 3 people now have confirmed what I have said. You have given us no information on what rig you used to come to your conclusions.
On what? At this point it sounds like you are just talking out of your rear to all of us. I have tested on a 5900x and a 3070ti 3800mhz CL16 Ram, a 10900k OC to 5.2 with 4400mhz CL17 RAM with a 3080. How about you? If your rig you used to test is on lesser equipment that was your issue.
They only person here making statements and providing no information what so ever is you. Period.
You are so blind to the truth. Just go into the TM / SS raid when it’s up and see for yourself.
It’s already been tested by others with similar hardware be it Intel or Ryzen, jeez I feel like I am repeating myself here. Please go back and re-read my other posts.
Stop talking out of your rear and saying random stuff that relies on others research. What did you personally do your extensive testing on? I already stated that I have tested on both intel and AMD so you cant call me a fan of either no more than you can call someone who likes chocolate and vanilla equally and Vanilla fan. You are just sounding like a a bigger fool with every post.
What did you do your testing on! What was your rig composed of? I have asked 3x. You have done nothing but mention others research each time. All my research was done 100% by me on a test bench. What rig did you do your test on?
Give it up Shifty. Its quite obvious he wont say because hes making it up. Hes the only one participating in this conversation who is not supporting his statements with facts or examples. Just stop feeding the troll.
This guy sounds like someone who runs at stock anyway. I doubt hes a Overclocker. An overclocked system will produce very different results. You may be right though he may just be a troll
TM/SS is not going to perform well on any hardware. Shifty and I are talking about situations outside of TM/SS and Trashran. You could also lump head on head AV in that bucket too.
Problem with TM/SS is it’s very difficult to benchmark, especially since it’s a specialized BG and we can’t just jump into it anytime we want.
Blizz has different builds where TM/SS perform differently. I’ve had constant 60fps+ at 1440p and even 4K at the cost of my action buttons being unresponsive. Then I’ve had situations where I’ve had low of 50fps (3700X/LQ VEGA64) at fully responsive buttons.
Like I said other than large scale PVP you should be fine with a modern system.
I can definitely say the game is CPU intensive, and whoever said that I don’t really know if they’re taking themselves seriously?
For example, I had a Ryzen 5 1600 and an i7-8700k. Both have the same configuration (6 cores, 12 threads), and came out in the same year, only the 1600 is much slower. Even both at max overclock with the same GPU, the difference in WoW is night and day. Big cities with lots of people on the 1600? 40-50fps. 70+ on the 8700k. Raids and other scenarios have similar results.
