GSE/GnomeSquencer?

Someone is trying to tell me that GSE/GnomeSquencer is banable, but it is little different than /castsequence. I have arthritis and need macros to lower the number of buttons I use, as I cannot use a gaming mouse and friends suggested macros and GSE to help me out. Is GSE ok or was it that people were making auto clickers for their mice to exploit it and castsequence? I don’t use autoclickers, but there are a few GSE macros that get my button numbers down to where I can cope. I cannot find anything in the forums stating GSE being banable and as it is on curseforge, why would curse allow it if it is?

Fairly certain its ok, its not automation, one action per keypress

It’s not banable. It’s using the same APIs as other addons to accomplish its tasks and has been for years.

If Blizz wanted it gone (and I don’t believe they do cuz it’s a great addon for people with injuries/disabilities) they’d have broken it ages ago.

Note that CurseForge isn’t at all associated with Blizz so what they allow on their site isn’t really an indication of what Blizz allows.

There have been people on the forums saying they got banned and GSE was the only thing they were using, so no one but Blizzard can answer

They didn’t say how they were using GSE. It doesn’t do anything on it’s own that can’t be done with any other code using the API.

You’re right, but is there more than one way to use it?

GSE, it’s not how you use it, it’s what you put into it. That said, what you can put into it now and what you used to be able to put into it (especially when it was first introduced) are very different things.
