Gryphon Rider Limited Edition Art Print

World of Warcraft Gryphon Rider Limited Edition Art Print in the Blizzard Gear Store

So I am aware it is limited to 150, like all the other gallery prints, but this iconic image being limited to 150 is crazy in my opinion compared to the other prints that have been offered. It sold out fast! This should have been available to a much larger crowd with Classic about to start. I also believe the people that did get to purchase it didn’t do it solely on it being capped at 150 prints(yes I see the value in it being rare), but rather what it is. I would like to see it available again!

Just find the image online and get it printed yourself.

Yikes. That’s messed up.

I would suggest hiring an artist to paint you something that looks like it, because at least then you’re not infringing on people’s copyrights and art. And you will have a personal use license to print that. And you’ll support somebody.

PS you can find people who do this on Twitter. Not as expensive as you might think. Just my two cents.

Show us the picture!

As long as he prints it for himself and isn’t mass producing them and selling them for a profit blizz couldn’t care less.

I believe it’s this one:

That’s awesome! Sadly already sold out.

It is and I can’t link anything since I have not posted enough in forums. The gear store picture is bigger.

Are these super expensive to produce or something, or are they limited purely to create exclusivity? If it’s a print, not handpainted, it seems weird not to print more. I mean, 150 for a game with millions of players…?

These were signed by the artists but that’s not always the case in the gallery. I believe they are trying to offer a premium product and not be left holding onto a lot of prints all the same. What gets me is they could have sold many more of this particular print and could have been offered separately from the gallery.

i mean im otw there now lol

Out of stock already. Oh well, I didn’t really have the wall space for it anyway and I’ve spent enough on WoW memorabilia this year after not having any for years.

Depends how they are printed. Lithographs, although just prints were typically a limited run and numbered.

I am probably dating myself. Been out of the print business for a long time now.

Eh, I’m sure you know more than me who’s never been in the print (or any other art-related) business. I was just kind of baffled because I didn’t see any details on the Blizzard store page about the materials, etc to explain the difficulty in mass-producing.

So I’m not trying to help you spend money or anything, but a decorating recommendation I’ve heard of, when it comes to art, is to change your pictures out from time to time. It’s an easy way to update your home whenever you feel like a change. Now if you have limited storage space I can see where that would be a problem. lol
