Leveling in Pandaria. Just hit 85.
At around 83, I finished the first leg of Growing the Farm. Got Gai Lan to come to my farm and start spraying the weeds. Not the healthiest for the environment, but necessary to expand my farm.
So I log in this morning, several hours after starting the project, and saw I was still expanding the farm. In fact my timer reset. Huh, guess it was some kind of bug with the weekly reset?
So I check on him, then decide to go do some herbing in the zone. 15 minutes elapse and I head back. My farm phases into existence and… he’s still there. In fact, the timer comes back again! 15 more minutes he promises me!
Okay, this is clearly a glitch. So I go sit at my farm and stare at him, watching him work. His timer is going, expiring… down to 2 minutes as I write this… 1 minute… seconds… 0. The buff goes away. He’s still there. Okay, so I fly away… come back and the buff returns! Gai Lan refuses to be productive or leave my farm!
I wish to file a restraining order on Gai Lan and hire someone more productive to get rid of my weeds. ]=
Seriously though, I expect it’s a glitch tied to the way leveling works in Pandaria now. Probably would work fine if I was lv 90.
Help?

Having it happen at 120, not a level thing.

That’s really concerning if you’re unable to progress despite being over lv 90.
Did anyone check Gai Lan’s license? I don’t think he should be working this long and accomplishing so little.
friend is experiencing this bug as well

This is also happening to me. I made a ticket about it and got the most meaningless lack of effort answer I’ve ever gotten from a GM lol they’re so incompetent.

This is a confirmed bug. Just came back after not playing since panda and i’m having the same problem as a 120 paladin. Just hit exalted. There is another individual who has posted this on wowhead. Waited 15 minutes 3 times. tried relogging. Still butting his head. Buff totally gone.

Posted on my classic tune. this is the actual char it is happening on.
Having the same issue. Gai just doesn’t want to scram. Technically I only need 4 plots though to progress the story i need him to leave.
Happening to me as well, opened a ticket and GM responded that they are aware of the problem and are trying to find a solution. ( growing the farm 2 and 3 have glitched for me) so I have a giant kodo repeatedly running into a boulder and fish always working on her wagon. Jaderosa is right though, it shouldn’t affect your ability to get exalted.
having same issue as of 01/27/20
yeah it has really gotten bad… they used to goof around in-game as giant gnomes, come in-game to help with stuff… now they developed a ticket process that takes 15 minutes to navigate, then a 24 hour wait, to get a big FU
wouldn’t be so bothersome if the game were any good, but…
They are looking into it, based on the response to my tickets.
Specialist Game Master Kallafrax here!
Thank you for your patience in waiting for my response, I truly appreciate it.
I’m sorry to see that your ticket was in queue long enough for us to have had to send you a notice regarding our delay in response.
In regards to the farm issues in Halfhill right now, we’re definitely aware of them, I’ve experienced it myself on an alt, I’ve received a few tickets about it over the last couple of weeks, and I know I’ve personally reported it up to QA to confirm.
I went ahead and added your account and character details to be investigated further by the correct team. What they will then do is :
- Verify the bug first by recreating it
- Create a fix for it
- Test that fix
- Finally deploy that fix.
All of that can take a bit of time to complete, and the fix itself may need a patch or hotfix to deploy. The best place to check for updates is our patch notes page. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/patch-notes/
We appreciate you taking the time to contact us about this issue, and hope your day is legendary! If you find yourself needing any additional help, please don’t hesitate to contact us again!
Glad to know there’s some progress.
Meanwhile, I am growing concerned that Gai Lan is secretly raiding my pantry.
It should be good to go now.
I went to the farm, let the timers run down and the farm plots cleared and was able to get back to doing the questing and such and finish it up today.
Indeed! Thank you WOW Government for evicting Gai Lan. He outstayed his welcome
I’ve been experiencing endless timer resets for both Thunder (Mossy boulder) and Fish Fellreed (fixing the wagon) for a couple of weeks in spite of waiting the full 15 minutes and never logging off nor leaving the zone during the 15 minutes. I’ve reported it several times, received the obligatory apology - to no avail. Very frustrating, particularly since I’m trying to level Pandaren engineering on an alt in order to make a Sky Golem.
UPDATE: I’ve not played in a week, and just waited out another round of 15 minute timers, whilst mining and doing Tillers dailies. Lo and behold, I returned to my farm - and the wagon AND mossy boulder were GONE. Alleluia!
