I know this is a trolling thread but if the buffs the augment is bringing increases the other two DPS by at least 20k each, then they have made up for the loss of not having the “hunter”. If it is more of a DPS increase, then they are better off (from a pure DPS standpoint).
But that said
The Augment evoker makes everyone better. Whether it makes up for the missing dps is something only people who have played them in a big group can answer.

Why would you look at Augment evoker dps? their main niche is buff the whole party dps, not to top meter like a hunter that provides next to no utility.
Augs grant massive DPS increase to other players as well as massive bonus healing and shields. They can be your group’s lust and give good buffs. 100% better than taking hunter.
OP literally made a thread last week called “Hunters getting benched for Evokers” and the text of the post said “Placeholder for next week” or something like that.
I think the real question is how come demon hunters didn’t get a third spec but evokers did??

You see if the Evoker does 50k less than you but causes each of the other two dps to each do 30k more dps AND gives a little bit of survivability to the tank doesn’t thsy make more sense?
I’d rather have them than someone who says “look I pressed all my buttons and details says BIG NUMBERS,” that means you need me for this 20 key.
I’m beginning to think many of the stereotypes about hunters are true.
Sure, Aug may “do” 40k less DPS, but if they give both other DPS 30k more each, and they make the healer heal more, and the tank is doing 10K more, and everyone is more survivable…. That outweighs their individual DPS, no?
