The fact that we get to click on “Need” or “Greed” makes it more interesting so we tend to be more greedy when it comes to loot.
In comparison with Personal Loot where you would run let’s say LFR for rep back in Shadowlands and if you got a piece of item and someone would whisper you most of the time you would give it away.
But right now it’s having a toxic effect on people where they feel the desire to need on the item to vendor it as soon as they are out.
Before all of you start to rage at me for “Transmog purpose” I get it. You want it for transmog. A transmog that you will never use.
Meanwhile a casual player could use that item to try to maybe push into Normal or Mythic + Dungeons.

So why did they change it then if it’s the same thing as Personal Loot? But with your first take here I understand that you’re lacking.
The change was 100% for the organised (read mythic) guilds and no consideration was given to how negatively it would impact the casual or pug community… blizzard do not want us playing their game that way. They want repeat social interactions.
Either subs decline because of it and they are wrong and reverse it/bring back personal loot or they don’t and it stays as is. Generally speaking, no amount of posting/feedback other than sub loss will be listened to… essentially its the “covenant lock” of DF.

Ooh please unsub.
Us who realise group loot and personal loot are near identical will enjoy our time without all this useless whining.

How is this different than people who would not loot the boss to hide if they got loot, or would ignore people who asked if they need it? I remember getting yelled at for not trading an LFR piece because I had a good ilvl.
the only place that group loot and personal loot are basically not the same is in organized played ran with guilds.

lol Nope. Addons, angry whisper spam, and more had no effect on me running LFR/Normal/Heroic to finish out my transmog. My loot. Get bent.
Uhh you do realise verbatim blue came out and said that right?
***Previously, the best way to target a specific piece of loot was to stack as many similar armor or weapon types as possible to increase the chances of that dropping. Now, even if you’re the only Rogue or Demon Hunter in your group, you have the same chance as anyone else of seeing an upgrade.
While this does mean it’s possible for a bow to drop in a group without a hunter, the belief is that this rewards groups for playing with a diverse set of classes - as well as the normalizing factor above (mail wearers from the last few years know how hard it is to get loot comparatively).***
i.e Co-Ordinated harcore groups were stacking groups and gearing up too quick. Blizzard didnt like it so in order to correct the Mythic/Coordinated groups they took a steaming dump on the casual/PUG community… enjoy your shields without a prot or ranged weapons without hunters dropping.

My bad, it’s identical in 99.9% of groups.
If they wanted to they could easily make an adjustment to fix things like that, make it so either weapons are smart drops or if the groups diverse enough there is smart loot drops.
Regardless,
I honestly don’t care if loot drops people don’t need. It was that way for over a decade. If it wasn’t a shield, it was probably a piece of plate I’m not able to roll on anyway.
Was I in the minority where if I got a piece, I didn’t need I would check others to see if then needed it and then just gave away unprompted?

No. I was also doing this.
the issue was if it was an ilvl upgrade you couldnt just give it away. now you can choose to pass on items.

Alright. What’s your answer about someone winning two piece of items from the same boss? Same thing as Personal Loot? I don’t think so.
They won them fair and square. If it’s the same piece, that’s a problem with the player and why I don’t waste my time in lfr

cuz one person getting 2 items they “need” is better than 2 people each getting an item and only one of them actually has a use and the other one gets disenchanted. cuz they cant trade it due to ilvl but its a stat down grade.
6 Loot. 6 Winners. Right now you have instances where 6 Loot for 4 Winners. Something is obviously wrong.

Problem is way too many kens and karens with this, “if its not an upgrade, you shouldn’t be eligible because its an upgrade for me” entitlement.
I play for a chance at loot just like you. It matters not what I have already aquired, i did the content, I’m just as eligible for the loot as you.
What the “loot” is, doesn’t matter, because its not up to you to dictate what I fo with said loot, it’s not yours.

but its not a win if you would have passed on it. you won something that you have no use how is that a win? im not arguing its perfect btw. im saying its better than what we had.
How is something wrong with that?
