Group Loot is antiquated, and was removed for a reason

Personal loot worked great for us for years. No drama, no rage-quits over loot disputes. I think they brought the old system back to make it easier for carry groups to ‘sell’ BOP loot to their carries.

It was hated by groups who like to take paid carries because it made it more difficult to “sell” the BOP drops.

Nah. You’re the one who needs to actually go find it.

Personal loot did not work great. It was universally hated by the majority of heroic and up guilds.

This doesn’t even affect boosts because the people selling the boosts already overgeared the raid and just traded it anyway.

No it was hated by anyone that actually raider at a mythic level and most heroic groups.

This doesn’t affect sale runs at all because people were already at max gear and could trade everything already.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

This new system is just Personal loot with some extra ‘protecions’ (can’t roll need if you have that item already, can trade any item not just ilvl downgrades) and with the Rolls above the table instead of below it.

People who are that good can run alts in lower gear to farm extra drops each week to sell to carries. I think you are the one who does not understand how carries operate.

As someone that has sold runs Alts have to be geared in every slot the same as the last boss ilvl loot. Most people don’t use Alts as they use their mains to not only speed up the content but they are selling heroic and don’t need the gear.

And you would be wrong. I sold boosts and know exactly how they operate.

You’re wrong as there isn’t any difference between Pl and GL. Infact it makes the boost groups less money.

If you’re good enough to carry people then you are good enough to run that 4th alt through mythic in heroic gear for another round of loot. Now you can pass on rolls and let your carry roll on it. How do you not see that?

you’re the one that constantly talks about them saying it was an entirely new system, i’m not looking for it, you prove it.

Here is the thing. All group loot has done was add back in a visual interface to the roll system that was happening with personal loot. Personal loot was everyone pressing need and the winning rolls get the item/boe/mount/spec specific equipment. This was all done with out a player interface and on Blizzard’s end.

Master Looter is not back in the game. So that doesnt happen as you described.

So on personal loot, an UH DK with Gavel, got Jaithys as loot from fated KT. They dont really need Jaithys. But they want it, so they keep it and not trade it. Did that person steal loot from the other people? No.

Now on group loot. Same situation. UH DK with Gavel wins the need roll on Jaithys. Did they seal the loot from other people? No.

The system is almost the same, it just has an interactive interface to it. The scenarios you are describing happened just the same in Personal Loot. There just was no way to see the need rolls happening, and the game automatically pressed need for all players who could need anyway.

Same with BoE’s in a dungeon. The personal loot had everyone pressing need, and the person who could loot it, won the roll. You just didnt see the rolls.

I never said they said it was a new system. I said they changed the entire system and how it works making it a new system.

The only downside of Group loot is the game doesn’t care anymore if you stack 8 hunters which is a good thing for less represented classes. So there’s no downsides.

What people don’t understand is that you rolled anyway before that you needed it or not, so everyone had to whisper each others “do you need that?”. Now at least you can opt out so it’s better for anyone that wants loot and it doesn’t let you get the same item twice. If someone didn’t want to trade before, they won’t want to trade now anyway. Nothing has changed on that part.

There’s no more ninjas than personnal loot did. And I doubt anyone really knows what a ninja means under those terms. Rolling on loot that is an upgrade for you or that you need is not being a ninja. People that wanted to keep their loot for tmog before with personnal loot is the same thing as having a chance to roll on it with group loot, but the game actually show you that they are actively doing that.

“its not a new system, its just a new system”

please just stop.

I never spoke for them. I said it’s a new system. I never said they said it’s a new system.

Please learn to read

No.

The people arguing against this would probably say yes both are stealing. And they were also probably the same ones screaming about how they should never have to trade their PL because it’s theirs.

you said to read their post, because it explains how its a new system, a post which you won’t tell us about other than its somewhere.

BRING BACK PERSONAL LOOT PLEASE!!! This rolling on loot sucks.

Yeah , there are players who don’t care about the community and how it actually makes it worse , they only care about the loot.

For them if the math says they have better chance of getting loot its enough for them .
