I just rolled for a shield in LFR guardian and I’m currently using a 226 shield. I lost the need roll as it wasn’t considered a main spec roll.
is this intended? I mean i bought the 500 anima gear from zenith Mortis and it gave me a shield as loot.
Are holy pallies meant to loot spec as tanks in order to roll as main spec for shields?

Did the game tell you that you were rolling as off spec? I haven’t seen how the rolls work yet, which is why I’m asking. And did you make sure your loot spec was set correctly?
I’m just trying to cover all bases here before I tell you to bug report it, since the shield is listed as both healer and tank loot.
Double check you didn’t have ret set as your spec for rolls.
This is anecdotal so don’t take this post seriously, but i have never looted that shield on any of my holy paladins who all had their loot spec set to holy and i’ve gone to lfr specifically for it
I wouldn’t even be surprised if theres an obscure bug where its only rolling for prot

I selected need, and the loot roll came up as need and someone won it as a main spec roll
Ok, did your roll say it was off spec roll? What was your roll and what was theirs?
Sorry not sure what it means by off spec rolls, it just came up as need option. which I selected as I’m using 226 shield.
Unfortunately we just killed KT, can’t find the guardian chat anymore for the loot roll.

And it sounds like you just lost the roll.
It would say that you were rolling as offspec in your chat window otherwise.
But that doesn’t mean you lost it as an off spec roll. It just means you lost the roll against them.
