How in the hell is this cool???
I don’t have 10 friends on at all times to help me kill a world boss or high level NPC for an quest!
This is 2020, there are no more communities on servers, we NEED group finder for quests and world bosses. COME ON, how is this cool?? Not everyone has 3459830495803945 friends, an active guild, or full Mythic 5069456 gear!!
I play alone, how am I suppose to ever kill one of those super elite NPCs or world bosses with mounts while leveling again?
No one in chat helps, they just troll
My guild doesn’t even have enough active ppl
Like come on this is one of the worst decisions you guys have ever made
The custom group finder is unlocked at level 50, which is not the maximum level now that the prepatch has arrived. It is unfortunate but Blizzard is trying to combat the abuse of it.
They could have unlocked it at a lower level. To lock it to level 50 is just another example of blizzard punishing all of their players for the few that abuse the system.
I mean, you’re playing on a super popular realm. Why not just ask in general chat if someone can give you a hand?
It’s not. Using Group Finder for low level stuff was vastly, vastly outweighed by people using burner characters to clutter the group finder with sale spam.
How about this as a solution. Blizzard creates a specific category for people who sell runs so that they don’t clutter up the rest of the group finder. Why ruin it for the other 99% of the players.
Because blizzard has created a cross-realm system and some people who might need the same quest/world boss/etc., might not be on a “popular” server.
Or maybe people are like me. I will often create a group when soloing dungeons/raids so that at the end I can leave it and get ported out to the graveyard. Now I cannot do this on my lower level toons. I will also use the group finder to create a group so I can place markers at specific locations since you need to be in a group to do that.
I often have characters there late at night/early morning, and there are people looking for help on that quest. It’s not unusual for me to find somebody dead, rez them, and help them with it.
Low level players were listing carry runs in the group finder and linking to websites that only deal in real money transactions. The obvious solution was to remove all access to the group finder from low level players who need to complete mandatory elite quests to continue questing in a zone.
No. It’s wrong for players to have to abandon a zone because of an overtuned or borked quest that can’t be soloed, and it goes completely contrary to what Blizzard claims is how they want leveling to work.
Elites OR World Bosses for that matter have never, in the history of the game, been designed to be solo’ed at the appropriate level. They are intended to be completed as a group. The quests pertaining to such mobs are specifically marked as group content.
World bosses have nothing whatever to do with this thread, nor with freestanding elites in any end content.
These are mandatory elite quests to complete storylines and finish zones. If players do not have the option of using the group finder to form a group they will be unable to complete zones when the population of leveling players is low or nonexistent.
The fact that you want to keep players from completing zones, what do you think they should do? Buy a boost to make you happy? They are supposed to be able to complete the zone while leveling, and the fact that you are actively working to end that is…curious.
almost every “elite” quest IS solo-able, with a little bit of effort (blow ALL your cooldowns at the right time etc)
on the rare occasion that it isn’t, it usually isn’t a “mandatory” mission for completing the zone, or its likely the kinda boss that other people are having trouble with as well, making finding people in local for it easy.
no one is being prevented from completing anything, they just changed the method that you ask for help with.
I don’t see why it’s a problem. I really don’t. Very few players in the grand scheme of things used group finder prior to max. So there’s no need for it before 50.
There are plenty of such quests that gate further content in the zone. Some you can’t even be helped unless the player is in the same point in the questline as you, because of phasing that continues through multiple storylines.
A lot of zones are deserted. Been to Zul’drak? The only players there are finishing loremaster on a max level. There are literally hundreds of fetch quests in there, and only a handful of players, none of whom is at the same point as you.
Going to your capital city and spamming trade chat is not a solution when there is no one in the zone either.
If they wanted to shut down the level 1 sale spam they could have removed the manual option, but left an “autoparty” button in the quest tracker.
Would group you with others looking to do that quest. Must be within X distance of quest objective to join. Auto-kicks once you (while alive) move X distance from quest objective.
The entire point of a burner character is that they don’t have to follow the rules because you don’t care if they get silenced.
Though I wouldn’t be against having a dedicated channel in the LFG system for sales, but considering it’s a grey market at absolute best, I doubt Blizzard would do that.
Like what?
Genuinely curious on this one. Closest I can think of are the Ring of Blood quests, but they’re hardly mandatory in finishing a zone or story.
