Did you know that World of Warcraft works pretty well on the Steam Deck if you have the right addons?
I do now.
However, I’ve been scared to do meaningful group content (M+ or raiding) with controller inputs, as I almost never play DPS.
Has anyone had any experience tanking or healing on a controller, and if so, do you have any advice?
Wouldn’t recommend healing; DPS or tanking shouldn’t be an issue though. I’ve done up to Mythic +16 and Mythic raiding using a controller on a Shadow Priest and Monk. Its the targetted for healing that is problematic for me, so I just don’t do it.
For Mythic + you can bind targeting to the dpad and then bind self cast for yourself, but for raids there are too many people to heal quickly enough.
I watch a couple videos of people healing dungeons with the steam deck. its doable because console port has the ability to switch party frames pretty easily. of course that means no mouseover macros, switching on and off the frames for dps or aoes, etc… doesnt look fun at all, and the guys response time was pretty bad because of having to switch between frames.
