Fair enough, i figured that data would be well enough to trust. Interesting enough i killed a level 2 bear got 20 exp, with a group of 3. then solo’d a lvl 2 boar and got 52, While you can’t trust P servers for everything they do come in handle for somethings, who know’s what the real vaules are besides blizzard themself.

Though to be honest, if it wasn’t the end of Vanilla it had to be BC with the group bonus’s. Anyone happen to find any archives on it?

I am referring to the same thing myself, i think the bonus experience bonus only cropped up from a group of 3 +.

Edit: I found this article from 2007 it looks like

https://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/the-facts-behind-quests-and-their-xp/ They reference the same formula that was linked in Wowwiki so it is probably BC or vanilla then, since wotlk is 2008

I have no memory of this. At least not in Vanilla. But grouping up for questing has huge bonuses by the very nature that it’s more people sharing mob taps.

Exactly no one can remember a 15yr old game. Hopefully we can get a blue post on this. #nochanges

I vaguely remember this. Hopefully Blizzard will look into this!

Yea bro I wasn’t try to argue. I was just saying it was wrath

I don’t remember a group xp bonus in Vanilla, but I rarely went with groups of 3 while leveling outside of the quests that needed a group.

Are you thinking of the dungeon exp bonus?

Neither was I.
All I said was that we can’t trust our memories.

I definitely remember getting group XP in Sunken Temple/BRD back in the day, but as others have said, memory is fallible.

Someone told me in another thread that there was no group exp, but I feel like there was; those saying it wasn’t there until Wrath could be right, but I’m like…98% sure they aren’t.

Guess we’ll need to wait and see.

What if I’m a Jedi?

Heard you main a druid?

Druids do not get group XP and neither do Ret Paladins. All other viable classes/specs shall.

You live up to your name when you confuse ‘optimal’ and ‘viable’.

At least with 2 people, you get far less xp - up to a point where if you level with 2 people a lot of the way, you’ll be way under leveled for the quest. This I’m pretty sure of.

There might have been a bonus where they wouldn’t just cut the xp in half, but the xp you got would have been far less than if you were going at it solo.

It’s actually faster… depending on the class and combo…

Solo hunter and lock… will be the fastest though.

On Northdale, the second fastet alliance character to 60 was a duo Warrior/Pally

I’m doubting a hunter/lock combo is the fastest. Those are two classes that can pretty much go non-stop by themselves already. They don’t really gain much by having a partner. To me the best would be a warrior and a healer. The warrior gains the most out of any class by having a partner. They go from having to heal between each fight (which means they start the next fight with no rage), to never having to stop, having a huge rage pool and destroying things.

Nah he said “solo” hunter / lock, you are in agreement.
