Is it intended for Grounding Totem to completely negate the stacking fire debuff on Mekk? Because it does.

Yes, grounding totem is extremely useful to absorb boss attacks, but it will only negate a single charge before it needs to be recast.
Mad horde is better.
Can paladins clear all their stacks with a bubble > taunt combo? Well can they?
Not sure on that, but both have their benefits a drawbacks, grounding totem can be used far more frequently, but only prevents an incoming attack, while bubble has a long cooldown, has no impact on incoming attacks, assuming its dropped and the boss is immediately taunted back, but is used to clear affects on the tank.
Assuming they have a pally tank, yeah. We have used it at the end of the phase to clear lingering stacks.
I was being facetious. I know it can be done. I don’t see why grounding totem absorbing stacks when used is even an issue, considering everyone can just FAP and negate stacks too.

Because if you do it wrong a melee dies.

Someone’s clearly full of hopium for the average classic enjoyer, just because some of us can think doesn’t mean most of them can. Melee being the biggest offender.
I noticed a bunch of people mention this on reddit and discord though when I asked the shaman in our tanks group in a raid to try it they claimed it didn’t work.
Does grounding totem actually block sprocketfire stacks from the punch?
Do logs show grounding totem absorbing it? I was looking at various logs including some someone linked in a discord to show the difference in damage in a raid that didn’t use the totem vs. one that did and I see a lot fewer sprocketfire ticks from one log to another, but I wasn’t sure if it also specifically mentions grounding totem absorbing it somewhere in the log.

Yep it negates one stack. Wish we had bubble so we can drop full stacks.
I have seen mention of timing decoy in the classic shaman discord also, but several people in that discord have claimed grounding totem can “eat all the stacks” or various things along those lines.
I thought maybe it was something that was fixed at some point but there are mentions of it as recently as today.
IE:
Decoy totem can eat the sprocketfire punch initial samage as well

decoy will eat the stack too if you time it right
but its harder than just having grounding up
Grounding totem stops the application of sprocketfire from sprocketfire punch, which stops the stacks from building up. You will still have to kite for flamethrower and if it hits you, you will still get stacks.

Look at the difference in damage taken from sprocketfire if you ground/decoy the stacks
I actually scrolled through the events log as I was typing this of that first log and I did find a line on the second or third page that says:
00:24.730 STX-96/FR Sprocketfire Grounding Totem 1 Immune
So I guess that would confirm that the grounding totem did block a sprocketfire stack. When I checked a log of ours the shaman in the tanks group cast a grounding totem at like 26 seconds in which was later than the first punch and then there wasn’t an immune message until 52 seconds in but there were sprocketfires between, so maybe the tank wasn’t in range of the totem or something for part of it
then that should be nerfed. sounds like its the old grounding bug where it immunes a damagless debuff and continues absorbing. unless its the flamethrower thats being absorbed. in any case thats broken, while decoy is not since autos eat it too
