There isn’t any viable reason why shamans have this totem in it’s buffed state. Make it baseline and put it back to soak one spell and that’s all.
That’s all it should be, and this 3s of divert all damage is stupid and broken and there is 0 counterplay to it because everything doesn’t kill them in one shot. You can’t even blow up the totems anymore cause they have 16k hp and are immune to all dots, so that’s a vast majority of casters being unable to pop them.
When did blizzard buff totems that hard, anyway?

Grounding totem also does not die immediately and the buff will be a 3s window of redirecting all spells, regardless of whether you actually took damage, and it will also eat Fire Blast without giving charges of Hot Streak.
I can assure you the moment you actually target and kill the totem the redirection ceases

Good thing lucid gives you ten-thousand charges of fire blast anyways. I think you can donate one to killing ground.

Back when I played a lot more, we had a lot more options.
Like Ice Lance.
Now we have Fire Blast, and that’s it.
So use fire blast? Not like you can press it while casting something else

Grounding totem soaking things for 3 seconds is generally a change they made I don’t like. It decreases the skillcap for sham imo. Also didn’t like only soaking 1 spell, made it way too easy to kill - think something in the middle would’ve been better.
Absolutely not at the top of what needs changed atm. Shams are weak as is and RMX is out of control. Mages/rogues stand out as needing nerfs much, much more. WW/DK and destro locks are honestly not far behind but hitting shams is the last thing we need to do atm.

The worst part is how it can be stacked for 6 seconds of total immunity to all forms of ranged interrupt and spell casting.
