Ground speed travel form question

Hi, hit level 70 seems my ground speed has not increased 100% out of combat, do I need to see a trainer or something?

Where you in combat when you entered travel form? Speed is reduced in combat. Once you exit combat reshift and you should be at 100% movement speed.

Hate this dumb bug

It’s not a bug. It’s how travel form speed has worked since they allowed it to go at mount speed.
Before the change there was no speed increase for using it out of combat. It was just a +40% movement speed. Sometime in Warlords of Draenor they changed it so if you activated it out of combat you would move at +100% speed until you shifted into another form (even if you entered combat afterwards).
This allowed travel form to essentially replace your ground mount in an expansion that was never going to have flying for flight form.

Ah ok just bad design then.

Actually it is not a bad design, it is just an unpopular design (with Druids) but it was needed. When they introduced it in Warlords, WPvP and PvP in general were extremely popular. Druid would never be able to be caught with Epic Mount speed while in combat. There was also some PvE considerations with kiting as well.

That isn’t the design problem.

The design problem is how you are not automatically increased to full speed once combat drops. It is clearly meant to happen, since re-shifting fixes it, but it doesn’t happen because Blizzard is incompetent.

It is the same thing when you try to shift from cat to travel while transitioning from indoor to outdoors (i.e. WSG tunnel). The game has a hard time detecting your actual position so you are unable to shift for several seconds unless you hard stop. I have heard everything from game design, terrain design to latency as the culprit, it is probably all of the above. Having to reshift from travel to travel to get the 100% speed bonus isn’t the end of the world and I would rather then fix the numerous other issues with the game that can seriously hinder some spec actual gameplay.

It’s a separate problem, because when I’m going at slower speed in travel form I can stop and get on one of my mounts no problem, so the game knows I’m outside, out of combat, and able to mount.

I agree there are worse problems. Just saying it’s a design problem/bug/whatever. It should be on some list somewhere that should be fixed one day.
