i went to see if there was a change to how to obtain the black scales for this mount since it said centaur rep but theres nothing at the vendor for this drake and now its gone. you only have the 2 color options the black and green are gone

Seems like they did a hotfix. It unlocked the helmets for the Grotto Netherdrake and the Faerie Dragon mounts, but it also removed the skin colors from the options. Maybe they’ll be added later, but it would be nice to know that instead of just having options disappear.

Perhaps some 10.2.5 strings accidentally snuck into 10.2 ?
(I also wonder if they are going to be introducing a new way to get the drake since there are a lot of customization options available for it)

Yeah, I can confirm this as well. Even the purple armor color is gone (though it wasn’t unlockable to begin with I don’t think), leaving the ugly gold/brown one. Ah well. Hopefully we will be able to get all of this in the coming weeks.

The Whimsydrake seems to have been left untouched as far as options go. It’s the Grottodrake that had its options either disabled or removed for the time being. I’m also glad I’m not the only one who wanted to do the same with mine.

There appears to be a questline with the netherdrakes on PTR that is the new source.

Yeah I also saw they were depressingly removed. So were portions of wrathions quest line. Maybe it was something they were toying with on the PTR but decided not to implement and remnants of it somehow made it into live

This is kind of ridiculous, if I’m being honest. Added them on the PTR through a questline, made it to live as obtainable through renown (though nowhere to be seen), and when the questline in question was made available, these options are just…gone? Come on now, Blizzard. I was really looking forward to these. Can you just…add something to the game without breaking things for once?

What’s wierd is that the grotto netherdrake now has customization options that are in the game but don’t show up at all in the menus until you collect them. (Eg: chin hairs from a new inscription pattern)
