Blizzard introduced a new RP-PVP server named Deviate Delight. It seemed pretty dead when my wife and her boyfriend and I checked it out this morning. Hopefully it doesn’t fracture the Grobbulus.
it wasn’t dead last night… or this morning… so not sure what you’re talking about.
wait… your wife… and her boyfriend? confusion
i’m on deviate delight. it being east coast is quite nice.
Nah, Gobbulus was looking awesome last night. Very few people messing with lineups for quest mobs/lootables, lots of friendly and cooperative people everywhere. It’s gonna be a really good time with the Grob Mob.
i think deviate delight being east coast will give it an advantage over Grob in the long run.
It was full and I couldn’t get in last night but this morning, it said “Medium” and I was able to log right in.
They should have 1 East coast RPPVP server. Even though I’m on East coast, I’d stay on Grob because people I know play there.
I’m wondering if a lot of people transferred off of Grob or not.
There are a ton of people RPing about Chuck Norris in /general there.
It’ll be popping today. They dropped it late last night and I know there was decent buzz wanting an EST RPPVP server. When those queues hit 10k again tonight folks will wander over and some will stay.
I missed that news article so I feel stupid. Deviate is a EST RPPVP…
I think many EST people will transfer off unless they know people already.
I wonder how much of a difference you really get with a EST vs PST server and your location. I get no lag living in EST but connected to Grob.
My wife and I transferred off of Grob, since we’re east coast. She likes DD way better name-wise and was already a bit leery of Grob server drama going on in their 6200 person Discord and such.
Deviate has been great so far, definitely no complaints here! Also got all of our same names, so no real loss except for the almost 5 hours that I sat in Grob queue before getting to play, lol.
The struggle: I got all my Alliance and some of my Horde names (except William!) on Grob, and I got all my Alliance and Horde names (except William!) on Deviate, but I’m maining Alliance and live EST…
Does PST or EST server location really matter though? If you’re living in the U.S. and you have a decent ISP with under 100ms will you EVER notice a difference?
I’m asking because I live on the East Coast and would consider transferring to Deviate Delight if there was any noticeable latency during PVP or PVE
That’s what I really want to know. I don’t know if anyones ever done any real testing.
I play Diablo 3 and from what I understand, the server is in LA, which is 2100 miles away from me and I don’t lag.
Why would they do this? Now the RP-PVP community will split. Good job Blizzard, good job …
It’s nominal in PvP but people swear there’s a difference. My biggest reason for switching is scheduling. I’m in Chicago so for me guild scheduling raiding, etc will be better for me with most of the community in the same or near time zone.
Then again, if half the RP community cannot even get in, that’s a problem too
I’m a grob man now. Go ED 2.0!
I found a macro that I’m going to test when I get home that apparently can tell you what your latency is. I’ll see if it’s a big difference between EST and PST.
/run print("Currenty Latency:
"…select(4.GetNetStats())…“ms.”)
The only thing I’m worried about staying on grob is raid times considering I live in est. I’ll decide for sure this afternoon which way I’m gonna go.
Did you try to get in now?
What about all the tourists leaving in a few weeks, ever considered that?
Spinning up another server is so short sighted. Can only hope the new one gets ignored mostly…
People complaining bout queues at LAUNCH … you are about to sign rp-pvp death … good job not getting any decent realm now ))
